Aw, thanks, Angie! Yes, I will not be this age for much longer! He he. What a memory you have.

Just beautiful Firecracker! Very elegant looking! But - seriously - you actually wore that second outfit to clean your house????? Hmmm . . . I think I may need to upgrade my house-cleaning capsule!

You look stunning. Love the All Saints piece, and the jeans look great.

Karie replied 9 years ago
Gorgeous, but I am curious - how did you wear the cowl neck sweater "upside down?"
And I am super impressed that you wore such a nice outfit to clean the house!

CocoLion replied 9 years ago
Fab looks all around. Was not expecting the house cleaning outfit to be a house cleaning outfit. Love the AllSaints cardigan, how clever to wear it upside down. Is there more drape at the neck when worn conventionally?
-

Echoing the others in saying #1 just blew me away! Wow FC you are hitting the right notes lately. Fab! The draped cardi is lovely on you and what great accessories!. Lol at Marley's comment re-house cleaning outfit :D Mind you sometimes if I'm hot I clean in just my undies!!

I absolutely LOVE that first outfit. That sweater is amazing - how creative to turn it around! Everything looks great! I will definitely copy this look one day too (too hot today) :) Hey, you look great to clean the house! I'm usually a hot mess for that.

WOW!! #1 is just stunning on you!! Superb. I love the harmony of it. And taupe!! ;) Plus, are you ever clever to wear it that way around....I am a complete sucker for items with back detail, as I think I mentioned on your flared jeans thread.

carter replied 9 years ago
Wow. Just gorgeous. When I read this I thought you meant to say backwards, but in looking it closer, you really did mean upside down. How on earth would something like that even occur to you?

I'm swooning over your neutrals! That first outfit is just delicious. I love the metallic and taupe-y tones, so rich and elegant. Your new jeans are so fab! Your house cleaning outfit makes you look so neat and efficient, does looking so tidy put you in the mood to clean? If so, I need to take a leaf from your book! Thanks for sharing your finds. That belt is seriously tempting me. And Happy Birthday again, all day long. :D

Glad you found your new white jeans. I love them with the taupe, so fabulous with your hair. What inspired you to try the sweater upside down? And your housecleaning outfit is nicer than what I wear out of the house :)

Thanks, everyone!
dashielle, Karie, Cocolion, jackiec, Suz, carter, Pil: The sweater is designed with the snaps down the back. There is ribbing at the bottom, and the top is turned under--not a stitched hem, but rolled under and held with stitching at a couple of seams. As shown on the model, the rolled-under edge is worn at the top; and Cocolion is right, there is more drape at the neck that way. It can drape quite low. (I always wear a cami under it anyway.) I bought the sweater in store rather than online, and the sales associate told me it could be worn different ways, which I loved. I wouldn't have figured it out on my own, although Joy recently showed us how she wears shrugs upside down! So here I'm wearing the ribbing up at the neckline, which makes the sweater a little shorter on me and gives more coverage up top. And I have also worn the sweater as a cardigan with the snaps down the front, either right side up or upside down.
Anyway, I'm adding some photos of the sweater flat, so you can see how it looks from both sides.
For those who commented on my house-cleaning look--you really had me chuckling. It is just cutoffs and a tee, with shoes added just for leaving the house (which I didn't actually do). I worked up a little sweat and had to take off the cardigan, too. DianeG, I laughed at your comment--I will sew in my undies sometimes, to facilitate the multiple try-ons, but it never occurred to me to clean house in my undies.

LOVE #1-#3. Was the sweater designed to be worn where it buttons up the back -- if not it's fabulous that way. I love everything about this outfit, the crisp white, the low slung belt, the cut of the jeans, the crisp contrast of white against the earthy taupe. Then there is a subtle sparkle to it all. I love it! #4 is fabulous too and far more fancy than anything I'd wear to clean my how. Marking as a favorite!
Oh, and I am telling you now, I'm going to copy as soon as I can. I have similar pieces and I think I can pull it off. ;-)

Ohhhh that top in #1-3 is just sooooo beautiful. I really like them combined with those flares. You look absolutely fabulous!

Day Vies, I'm flattered! Yes, the sweater has the snaps up the back, but I've also worn it with them in front.
Thanks, MsKatieKat!

Oh my goodness, I am ashamed as to what I wear to clean my house. You look glamorous compared to me :-)

Your first outfit is stunning. I love the back interest. The taupe with white brings it into summer. The jeans look perfect on you.
