WIW: blue and white casual

Ultra casual, check. Blue and white, check. I wanted to wear cobalt today, and Angie's ensemble helped me figure out what to wear it with.

The outfit (worn for July 4, a mild summer day spent mostly at home): cobalt print tee with floral splash of blues to one side of front (Eddie Bauer); cobalt 3/4-sleeved cardigan (Halogen); blue and white striped bermuda shorts with white twill tape trim and tie (Eddie Bauer); blue and white striped earrings; white flat slide sandals (Munro, photo 1); offwhite strappy platform sandals (Naot, photo 2).

I retrieved the white sandals in photo 1 from a donate bag. Not sure if I need to keep them for occasional wear like with this outfit. I may even prefer the cream sandals in photo 2 with this outfit, anyway. What do you think?

    Great take on the ensemble.  You look lovely in that shade of cobalt.  I think both pairs of sandals look good, you could go with either.

    A fabulous casual look FC! I'm actually inclined to agree with you on the sandals. I think I slightly prefer the tone of the second pair, though it's a close call.

    Awesome. I actually like the brightness that the white sandals offer. I think both sandals look good though. You really can't go wrong with either. Fab birthday outfit, Fabulous Firecracker!

    I think I do prefer the bone sandals with this particular outfit, but if the shorts were all white or you were wearing a white top or belt, I'd prefer the bright white. So if you think you might make a few outfits like that in the summer, then it's worth hanging onto those if the comfort is there. 

    We're cobalt twins, today! Angie definitely started something..

    I prefer the cream sandals -- the white seems too stark with this outfit. Of course cobalt being my favorite color makes me biased in favor of the entire outfit. I love the print on the tee. It's like you have fireworks on your tee just for the holiday -- a subtle nod without being over the top and obvious.

    Love your blues8is that a twin set? love the big assimetrical print on the tee!!) and whites, and I preffer the sandals in nr 2 but as Suz said, the whites can still be usefull!

    Love the bold blue side flower with the cardigan over it, and I'm with Suz on the sandals.

    Cute outfit...cobalt sweaters set off the shorts..I do like the white sandals..

    Great casual outfit! I like the splash of blue on your tee - reminds me of fireworks. I like the cream sandals better.

    I like the cream sandals more with this outfit but could see possibilities with the white ones.

    Thanks, everyone! I appreciate your thoughts on the sandals. After wearing them to walk to the store, I remembered they aren't all that comfy anymore. So back to the donate bag they'll go. I can always get another pair of white sandals if I need them.

    lyn67, the sweater and tee just happened to match, not a twinset.

    Day Vies, the print on the tee reminds me of fireworks, too.
