WIW: cozy chic

Here are outfits from the last several days. If I were to detect a theme, it might be cozy chic?

1-3 (worn for a day off): dark straight-leg jeans (Kut from the Kloth, Stevie); olive knit draped pullover (Nally & Millie); brown belt (B-Low the Belt); espresso moto boots (Miu Miu); green single-breasted trench (Gallery); espresso and black leather satchel (Joy Gryson, Natalie). High happiness factor, with a lot of favorites.

4-5 (worn for day off): mauve and multi-colored floral tee (made by me); dark boyfriend jeans (Kut from the Kloth, Catherine); brown belt as above; taupe heather cashmere shredded knit shrug (made by me); taupe nubuck booties (Paul Green, Jano). Another happy outift, though I don't think I even went out of the house in it.

6-8 (worn for a day off and piano lesson): stone cords (Patagonia, slim fit); sage long-sleeved tee (Majestic); mauve and gray floral wool cap-sleeved sweatshirt (made by me); mauve packable rain coat (Mycra-Pac); taupe shoulder bag (Aunts & Uncles); gray shimmer oxfords (Naot, Kedma). Low happiness factor, despite the fact that I like all of the items. I just didn't like them together. Bleah.

9-11 (worn to work): black and brown tiny-bubble knit dress (made by me); black crinkle-knit drape-front vest (ComfyUSA); chocolate heather wool sweater tights (Smartwool); black flat booties (Munro, Lexie); new brown metal arty necklace and earrings; long black coat (Gallery); brown and black satchel as above. Back to happy with this outfit.

12-14 (worn for a day off): black skinny jeans (Eileen Fisher); ivory long sleeved tee (Caslon); black and brown animal print fuzzy long cardigan (Free People, Out of Africa); brown belt as above; espresso moto boots as above; taupe trench (Calvin Klein); brown and black satchel as above. Another happy outfit--yay.

Hooray! I love the term Cozy Chic! I also love your jewelry! My favorite outfit is the first. It looks very comfortable, and I love that sweater.

You are so talented FC! There`s something about outfit12-13. Your face just glows when you are wearing white. Lovely combo with that gorgeous sweater.

    I can't get past #1.

That is one of the most AMAZING outfits I've seen on you yet. Wow. Just so, so flattering. I'm sort of floored because for once it doesn't have the wonderful MBM label, but it makes up for it with those fabulous Miu Miu boots and the way they coordinate with that sweater. Plus the fit of the jeans is superb. That one is K2K in my books.

I also love #1 but they are all great - with the possible exception of your least happy outfit 6-8. I would try to scrunch the sleeves and put on lighter shoes - something about exactly where the top ends bothers me, and maybe you too.

I love these cozy outfits but want to steal the dress and vest in 9-10. I also like 4-5 very much. The floral tee that you made is wonderful on you, and I usually don't care for florals.

I love all the outfits with my favourite being number 1. Those jeans are amazing on you. I must add that you look great in all the jeans. I think jeans are a good item for you. I like the maxi coat too.

Another great collection of outfits. The dress in #9 and the fuzzy cardi in #12 are my favorites.

Another vote for #1. You look very dramatic in those darker tones. And your legs appear very long (lucky you). Cozy chic is great. Oh, I also love that dress. It also has a long line that is quite elegant. Yup, I like the outfits that reinforce a longer line.

Thanks, everyone! You know how to make a gal feel great.
Staysfit, thanks for your compliment on the jewelry. I know you enjoy finding unusual pieces, too.
Merwoman, what a compliment! I'm never sure about so much ivory on me, so I appreciate your mentioning it.
Suz, wow--thanks! It's so funny. I've worn the sweater in #1 quite a lot, but with different jeans and boots. It does make a difference, I guess!
Jaime, I think you're right about what I didn't like in 6-8. To AM's point, I like long lines, too! And the effect is too chopped up in 6-8.
Elle, thank you--I really like wearing my jeans.
Thanks, Karie. That fuzzy sweater is kind of my style equivalent of comfort food.
    AM, I appreciate your eye--thanks!

I looked at the outfits before I read your comments and the others.  I totally concur with you.

I adore 1, it is just perfect in every way, and I also love the dress on you.  They are so elegant and stylish and reflect your style.

The second and last outfits are also great, I love the winter florals.

The middle outfit is more bleah to use your word.  I think this tee would be better with a skirt, or maybe tucked into capris or wide leg trousers.  There are too many horizontal lines in the wrong places.

Yes i think cozy chic is a great descriptor.

#1 is simply stunning, everything about it is amazing and I can not describe how much I love it.  The pairing of the sweater and booties is delicious.
All the other ones are great too, everything looks very cohesive and cozy.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

    Thanks, Kiwigal and Tanya!

More love from me for your first outfit, Firecracker! I love the color and elegant drape of the shirt on you, and the belt buckle adds a wonderful bit of sheen to the outfit. I am equally taken with the dress/vest outfit. The hammered necklace and earrings are stunning.

Cozy is fab -- Truly, when it's cold and dreary outside, I love seeing women dressed in a cozy, beat-the-cold way.  #1 is phenomenal -- and I love the green coat.  All of these are consistently terrific in fit and proportion, and totally "you."

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

That's a really fun sweater in #1, I like the drape in the front.  And I adore those softer colors on you from 5 and 6, those shades are just lovely on you!

  • Day Vies replied 9 years ago

1, 8 and 12 are my favorites. I love the sweater in #1 and the peek of the brass buckle of your belt is a good look! I also love the collar of your coat in #8 and the color (mauve?) is divine. I love how you rock a pair in skinny jeans in #12 and it looks very warm and cozy with the over-sized cheetah print. Cozy indeed!

Another great set of outfits Sharan! More love from me for #1 and also for #9 and #12. I really like the colours in #6, but I'm with Shevia on the proportions, can't quite put my finger on it though.

  • Ruth M replied 9 years ago

You really have the most wonderful wardrobe! I'm late to this and it has all been said already, but I LOVE #1 - that is a gorgeous, sophisticated pullover. I also love #5 - great sweater, and I love it with the high contrast of ivory underneath. And your new jewellery set is beautiful and very much your style.

  • Dee replied 9 years ago

Cozy chic sounds like my ideal wardrobe! My favorites are the clean lines of the sweater 1/2 and the coat in #3. That green is amazing on you!

  • Helena replied 9 years ago

Great looks Firecracker ... I esp. love the sweater in #1.

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

Hey Sharan - fab looks as usual! I'm way behind on posting so will keep it short. Plonking on the floor for #1. Love that sweater :)
