Cardigans & watch arrived

I received the NAS items I ordered:

Vince Oversized Wool & Cashmere Cardigan
Treasure&Bond Space Dye Cotton Blend Zip Cardigan
Tissot Women's PR 100 Auto Classic Watch
Zella Seamless Performance T-Shirt (purple iris)

I ordered the two cardigans because I wanted to replace my burgundy Old Navy cardigan, which I've worn a lot and is showing it. I didn't plan to keep both, and I'm debating whether to do so.

I'm sharing some pics here, minimally styled, without makeup or
attention to hair. I chose a patterned t-shirt (made by me), black denim
drapy slightly lantern-leg pants (made by me), black booties with dark
red stitching (Pikolinos) to try on the cardis.

(1-2) First up, the Vince. If I only kept one, it would be this one. It's beautiful, soft, perfect color, and a nice long length. I got the XS, a size down from what I would usually choose, and it is just right. It's supposed to be oversized, but I didn't want it too oversized. I tried to show, with the side view, that it has a slight cocoon shape on me, which I like. The fiber content is 70% wool, 30% cashmere, and I'm hoping it won't pill. Keeping it nice so it will last is a reason I would consider keeping the Treasure & Bond cardi, too--so I would purposely be "splitting wears."

(3-4) I also like the Treasure & Bond cardi a lot--I love the shorter length and sporty style. With the black and white stripe, I feel it doesn't have the widest range of use, so I wouldn't keep only this one. This is size S, my usual.

(5) Tissot watch. I love it. This will be my summer watch! Who knew I needed one? Haha!

(6) Zella tee, with the Title 9 (not Athleta, after all!) hoodie I hoped to wear it with. Perfect!

(7) The Old Navy cardigan that I needed to replace.

(8) Another cardigan--an AllSaints sweatshirt jacket from a previous NAS--that I'm considering getting rid of. It survived an extensive edit last year, and I did try to wear it a couple of times after that.

oops: Edited to add photo 9
(9) Layout of the two new cardis and the t-shirts (minus the one I tried on with them) that are potential pairings.

Questions or thoughts welcome!

Ok, I am smitten with the Treasure and Bond. It looks so cute on you! It's like a little bomber jacket. If I were doing the sale, I would be seriously looking at that one.

It is hard to see the details of the Vince, but I do like the slight cocoon shape. It looks cozy and autumnal. It seems like it might replace the older All Saints if that one is now in rough condition?

Thanks, Suz! Actually, now that I look at them, I think the Vince replaces the Old Navy (similar classic, slightly oversized styles) and the T&B can replace the AllSaints (sporty style).

I'm so glad you like the watch! A white watch is a great thing in summer.

Both sweaters are wonderful colors for you (and your closet) and I particularly like the collar and cuff stripes on the zip cardi.

LOVE the watch. I never thought about a special watch for summer, but now I can see how lightening things up for the season makes sense. I think the T& B and Vince sweaters are so different that if you like them both I’d keep them both. I just love the burgundy color for fall and think you look great in all your new items.

    KILLER watch and sweaters!

EXCELLENT replacements, Sharan. You need it all! Very different from what you have. Remember that we wear knitwear and toppers across a range of thicknesses for 9 months of the year in Seattle, WA. These items will be WORN.

And of course -all beautifully styled by your self-made awesome items and innate style gene!

I'm with Suz in LOVING the '70s edge and vibe of the zip-through track top! Fun to see you in the top pick :)

Thanks for your encouragement on the watch, Roberta.

Kyle, we could make summer watches a thing--haha! I think you're right about the two cardigans--they are such different styles.
Thank you, Angie, for your wise and kind words.

I've put the two older cardis in the donate pile and hung the two new ones in my closet.

Awesome choices. It’s really difficult to replace well worn items, I find. In this case I think the new ones look even better, so it’s a real win!

  • Olive Green replied 9 months ago

One cardi looks cozy, the other quite snappy! And they both look perfect with your muted pattern tops, which I think you made, all of them?

  • ZoeyGirl replied 9 months ago

I love that you decided to keep both! Jenni's comment about the difficulty of replacing loved items made me appreciate your selection and decision to keep them even more.

I just ordered the Treasure and Bond cardi. Seeing the collar lie flat on you convinced me to go ahead! Meanwhile, I decided to return the Caslon cardi that I'm pretty sure you decided to keep. It wasn't quite the color palette I expected - more purple than I anticipated.

I love the clothes you made! I particularly like the stitching on your jeans!

I’m loving these colors, very fall! And the sportiness of the treasure & bond is fun and makes it so different from the Vince.  And look the watch as well

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 months ago

    Thanks, everyone, for your comments!
Olive Green, yes I made almost all off the tees. The top one, with the blue-gray background, is ready-made.
Zoeygirl, glad to show you the collar! The Caslon sweater was a cooler color than I anticipated, too, which was a bonus for me.

The length of the T & B sweater is very flattering.  The visible proportions of the Vince sweater and your jeans are about 50/50 which sort of cuts you in half although the color values are similar which helps. But this could just be me preferring a one third/two third ratio.  The pink shirt and hoodie are fabulous colors.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 months ago

Thank you, Kinnick. I'm terrible at noticing the flattering ratios. I think the length of the AllSaints jacket in pic 8 is what made it hard for me to wear, and it looks like it's doing that cut-in-half thing, too.

  • Irina replied 9 months ago

Love that Vince cardigan! Looks wonderful on you!

  • Bijou replied 9 months ago

I love both cardigans and see them as being different. The summer watch is a great addition as well, you have had a brilliant NAS.

  • ChristelJ replied 9 months ago

Both cardigans look great to me and the color so perfect with your coloring, and with your arty tops.

  • Joy replied 9 months ago

The burgundy looks amazing on you. I hope you keep the little bomber jacket. It looks youthful.

  • Greenjeans replied 9 months ago

I am here for this content! The zip cardi is adorbs. Lovable, actually. Thank you for sharing.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 months ago

Irina, you would rock the Vince cardigan. It comes in charcoal. Just saying. ;)
Thanks, Bijou, ChristelJ and Joy! Yes, I'm keeping both cardigans.
    You're welcome, Greenjeans!
