AllSaints sweater

I ordered the AllSaints Lock mock neck sweater after mention of it somewhere here, and it arrived today. I was excited to try it on, so here are a few pictures.

I think I will return it, because the color is more yellow in person than I had hoped. More butter than chalk. It is soft, and I really like the style. It has my favorite neck style--a cozy cowl. This is my usual size, and it is quite roomy. I don't think I would size down, despite the oddness I'm seeing on the right sleeve in the back-view photo. I just think I need to hold out for a better shade of white, or I won't wear it. I do like it better with the lower-contrast pants and the narrower silhouette jeans.

I tried it on with
1-2: off-white boyfriend jeans I had on today (you can see how it is more yellow than the jeans)
3-4: black and white pinstripe flannel wool pants (OSKA) and black booties
5: neutral shades glen plaid wool wide-legged cropped pants (OSKA) and black booties
6-7: dark wash jeans and graphite booties

I like it on you but agree that more chalk and less cream would probably be better on you.  It's a great useful style though!

Glad you showed us. I was looking at this sweater, too but was put off by the comments on the odd fit. Doesn’t look too odd to me, I kind of like it. It is unfortunate that this shade of white doesn’t work for you, the style looks good on you.

Oh, my!! I really loved this sweater and intended to buy it but the price in CAD was really steep and Angie did not make it a top pick, plus some reviews were negative. But the cut is fantastic on you!! I love it! I hear you 100% on the shade of white, though. It looks fine in the photos but I know all about whites that are not clear enough -- I went through the same dance with white puffers this past winter and held out for a better colour than my first options and glad I did. I'll bet you could sew something like this really well.

    Ditto what Suz said

Interesting. I actually quite like it, especially with the lantern pants!  I think the look really suits you.  I do appreciate the colour concern though, and we all need to hold out for exactly what is best, and not settle for less.

    Oh, very nice :D

KILLER silhouette on you, Sharan! Thanks for showing us. It's a gorgeous piece.

Alas, not your white. Nor "glacier" nor "moon". Too warm. Onto the right shade of white that makes you happy :)

Yes, LJP and Angie, I do like the style. Glad to hear you like the look with the lantern pants.
Suz, if only I could find the fabric!

I love the style on you, especially 3/4, but agree a yellowish white is not a substitution for a cool white and you should wait.
