WIW: puddle pants (skinnies)

Here in puddle-land (aka Seattle), all-occasion skinnies are de rigueur for me. I picked up a dark espresso ponte pair at Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and have now started wearing them to work. The others featured here are my new favorite charcoal skinnies, a pair of Classiques Entier that have pretty well replaced some Halogen ones that I wore quite often for the last few years. In that outfit (second one shown here), I really wanted to wear my bootcut charcoal NYDJ pants, a la Angie's ensemble, since it was a fairly dry day, but alas, they need hemming. If only I knew a good tailor, right?! I also tried my stone colored skinnies like the charcoal ones I ended up wearing--I loved the look but couldn't figure out the footwear.

I need to get some outfits like these in my head as FFBOs for those days when nothing but skinnies will do.

The outfits:
1-3 (work to work): espresso ponte knit skinnies (NYDJ); scroll print cotton cowl-neck pullover blouse in brownish taupes on white (made by me); long 3/4 sleeve taupe linen blend cardigan (Nic & Zoe); espresso moto boots (Miu Miu); taupe trench (Calvin Klein); purple hobo bag (Kate Spade).

4-6 (worn to the annual meeting of the American Sewing Guild local chapter): charcoal skinnies (Classiques Entier, City Weave Ankle Pants); light gray silk pullover blouse (Vince) under mauve print wool fleece cap-sleeve sweatshirt (made by me); gray pearl bracelet (Lucky) and earrings; mauve and black packable coat (Mycra Pac); black and burnished gold cap-toe pumps (Anyi Lu); black satchel (Elliott Lucca, Olvera).

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome! Thanks for looking.

Whoa! You look stunning! The skinnies are divine and the boots are exquisite! You look so polished and stylish. Love the mix of made by you and store bought items--the combinations are perfect. Luxe and arty combined!

What fabulous outfits! I love #4/5. You are rockin' those made by you items, girlfriend!

I am drooling over pumps and boots - stunning!
Skinnies suit you well. We also moving to a skinny time now but it is more of snowbank-land than puddle-land :-)
    Great outfits!

Thanks, kellygirl, Karie, and Sveta! I'll take puddles over snowbanks any day, Sveta.

Great outfits and love both MBM tops (as usual).

The skinny pants show off your long legs to perfection.  And since they work with foul weather, even better.  I really like the second outfit with your layered printed sweatshirt top.  The coat has a gorgeous color and modern shape, I can hardly believe it's a packable.

You look very put together! I'm loving the overall look of your second outfit. Swooning over the boots, as well.

Both outfits need to be in your FFBPPO (PP=puddle pants here). Your new floral sweatshirt must have been much admired by the sewing guild. The bit of flare at the bottom makes it special. It looks like it can move.
In 1/2, the way the top's pattern shows through the cardigan is a lovely detail.

FABULOUS outfits. See.....it *can* be done in awfully soggy weather. And I mean very wet weather, ladies. It has been raining cats and dogs here for days. It's dried up over the weekend though.

I love the grey blouse layered under the floral sweatshirt. Killer look, you gorgeous creature. xo

I love the term puddle-pants! Perfect! I have lots of those too!

Drooling over those moto boots. Wow. Very very nice. Love both outfits too, especially the print top you made in #1. You always look so put together and nice, Sharan.

Love your post title :) Love your outfits too! The tops that you made are so fab and I like the cardigan you have over the top in #1, what a nice shape. You're lucky having something like The American Sewing Guild, we have absolutely nothing like that over here :( Sewers are just swept under the carpet in the UK.

Oh I like your color scheme. Especially the sweatshirt.

    Thanks, everyone!
Denise, thanks for the compliment. The coat came with a little bag to stow it in, though I don't use it. I'm leaving on a trip to the Midwest tonight and would like to take it, but I think the weather might be too cold for it.
Angie, I'm glad that ridiculous un-Seattle-like rain has stopped!
Diane, it's too bad you don't have a similar sewing organization. I didn't even discover it until I moved to Seattle several years ago. It's a lot of fun.
