WIW: a few casual outfits

Here are outfits from the last few days. The first one is what I wore in the evening to teach a sewing class; earlier in the day I had on the skinny jeans shown in outfit 3.

1-2 (worn to teach class): charcoal skinny ankle pants (Classiques Entier, City Weave); fuchsia cashmere boatneck shirttail-hem tunic (Halogen); gray short boots (Frye); fuchsia, purple, and dark blue scarf (Eileen Fisher).

3-4 (worn for a day off): dark wash boyfriend jeans (Kut from the Cloth, Catherine); gray and taupe open weave sweater (Kensie) layered over gray tissue weight tee; black belt with ornate silver buckle (Bed Stu); gray shimmer oxfords (Naot, Kedma).

5-6 (worn for a day off & shopping in the rain): medium-wash skinny anke jeans (Lucky, Charlotte Rail); charcoal and multi-color floral silk peasant blouse (made by me); black belt with ornate silver buckle (Bed Stu); short gray boots (Frye); taupe trench coat (Calvin Klein); black satchel (Elliott Lucca, Olvera).

Thoughts and suggestions welcome! Thanks for looking.

I don't feel qualified yet to make suggestions, but anytime I open your posts, I think of how well-put together you appear!

AGREED. You always look pulled together and interesting no matter how casual the outfit, Sharan.

Those moto booties pick up the colours in your hair just beautifully. I LOVE #1. That tunic was made for you. And elegant with the addition of the scarf.

#2 is Moody Comfy Casual. Fab oxfords.

And #3 is lovely and feminine with a tough touch. xo

These are all great outfits!  I especially like outfits #2 and #3. That open weave sweater looks great with the belt and I love the pattern on the blouse.

    Thanks everyone!
Angie, I even tucked the laces on the oxfords this time. :)

Your outfits are always a treat. In 1/2 I like how you have styled the sweater. I think I have the same one in light grey. The length looks much better on you.
3/4 You wear jeans so well. I like how the belt buckle repeats the pattern in your top. This may be my favorite outfit of this post.
5/6. Your "made by me" top is a winner. The trench looks so great on you.

I love the burgundy color and all the colors in the MBM top on you. I also love how you balance your statement items with solid, stylish shoes and bag.

That purple tunic looks spectacular on you Sharan. You really look great in moody and earthy colors like burgundy, taupe and olive. Love the olive oxfords!

You look great. Pictures 3-4 is my favorite. I wish could take a sewing class from you.

I always love your outfits! Is that peasant blouse you made machine or hand embroidered too?

  • Jenny H replied 10 years ago

You look great in all of these! I love the length of the Kut Catherine's on you here. I wish they came in a long inseam so I could wear them this way or maybe I could find some taller booties. Anyway agree you look very put together!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

thimbelina, thanks! It's not embroidered; the print is one of those digitally produced ones, I think.

Jenny, I wonder if I actually have the right product in my Find, but it's the closest I could find online at Nordstrom. The jeans I have are probably a 32" inseam.

Trench twins!  Except I have the lighter Khaki color.  Great outfits - love your Fry boots - very "cool girl".

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

That tunic is spectacular on you. But I equally love you in the taupe.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

    High five, Sarah!
Suz, yeah, I wonder sometimes whether I look better in colors or neutrals.

Outfit 1 is my favorite! Fun color and cut on you! The boots are beautiful with it too. The taupe sweater looks so festive! Love it too. Especially the hi low effect :)

Everything looks gorgeous.  There is something about that taupe sweater and the navy in the jeans....very good colors on you.

Love all your outfits.  I agree that you always look great.  I love trench coats.  You look lovely in neutrals.

  • Kimberley replied 10 years ago

Looking good, FC...you wear jeans and skinnies like nobody's business!

  • replied 10 years ago

I love all 3 renditions FC. I love how you tied your scarf in #1 and your booties bookend your hair so well. I like the sweater texture and belt buckle in the second outfit; nice visual interest, and I agree with Angie about the tough and feminine vibe in outfit 3, very nice!

Ooooh. I love a tucked away lace. xo
