WIW: making fantasy a reality

During Angie's reality versus fantasy challenge, I discovered that my main fantasy is being able to wear my pumps more often. They just don't seem to fit my daily life. One suggestion I took to heart is that I could wear the pumps out to dinner or for part of my day.

I tried it out today. The outfit I wore to work featured my trusty harem pants and snake-print sneakers, both of which worked great for biking to work. Afterward, I came home and put on my pumps to go out to the pub with DH for dinner. Not a fancy place, but I felt casual enough in the outfit with my chic but subdued black pumps.

The outfits:
1-3 (worn out to dinner): black harem pants (Eileen Fisher); black and white lacy print sweatshirt (made by me); teal short trench (Ambition); black and brown snake print cross-body bag (Aimee Kestenberg); black d'Orsay pumps (Vince, Claire).

4-6 (worn to work): same outfit, with black and white snake-print sneakers (Mephisto, Yael) instead of the pumps.

    What a great solution. You look wonderful in your going out outfit. Another beautiful "made by me" piece and those snake print sneakers are fun.

    Great outfit with the pumps and harem pants.  I find it amusing that you are dressing up your work outfits while I usually do the opposite and change my work outfits into more casual versions when I get home.

    Sneakers are fab, but I think I like the harem pants even more with the pumps. As usual, I had to zoom in for a good look at your handiwork on the sweatshirt. Well played.

    Sara L., so funny! I do that, too, sometimes. Usually it means substituting jeans for a skirt or dressier pants.
