WIW: casual pants, tee, denim jacket

I'm wearing Angie's casual pants, tee, denim jacket ensemble to work today. It has been a very popular outfit on the YLF forum, and it's one that I wear quite a bit, too.

Today's version:
Olive chinos with brass studs down the sides (Lucky); blue, olive, ivory, and red blurry raindrop-patterned surplice tee (made by me); blue denim jacket (AG, Robyn); olive belt (Fossil); taupe oxfords (Paul Green, Dale); cream and taupe bag (Fossil); brass statement necklace and earrings (Lucky).

Thanks for looking! I welcome your suggestions and thoughts.

This concept looks great on you.

Really nice - I always love the combination of colors in your outfits.

Love it. I wouldn't change a thing. Trying to drop 3 more pounds so my olive pants can get back into rotation and I can wear this formula, too.

    That's a very nice outfit.

This looks great on you. I love the bag and how it picks up the lighter colour in your top.

Looks great! I sew too. Did you use a pattern for your tee? Is so, what is the maker and number? I'd also love to see it on you without the jacket.

This is gorgeous! Love the rich green with the denim blues! You look terrific!

Love the fit of the pants - and love the studs down the side.  Really great look for you all-around.   Lucky is a brand I never think of - they have a retail shop in our big mall here, but I never go in .  I must get in there sometime soon.

Great look, the colour palette and fit is very stylish.

You create interest beautifully with pattern, accessories, layering.  It never looks too busy which is a real talent.

You've made it look Sunday afternoon yet polished.

Perfect, I would not change a thing! Love the colors you have used...they look so perfect together.

I love the way everyone is bringing their own style to this ensemble. Your interpretation is very you: funky and a bit boho. You look great. Loving your hair too. I wish mine would curl that way!

    Excellent outfit!

Aw, thanks everyone! I appreciate all your kind comments.

Liz, I used the Cross Your Heart top pattern by Christine Jonson patterns. Sorry, no photo without the jacket (at the moment, anyway). Have you ever used Patternreview.com? I've been a member for years, and it's a great source of info about patterns, and a place where you can see the patterns made up on different bodies.

Fantastic! Really liking the studs on the chinos, for added interest.

Liking this a lot! The pants and jacket together could play nicely with all kinds of top/footwear combinations.

This looks great o. Impressed with the top too...

Fabulous! I love the colours and the blingy olive pants are fab. As usual I'm a big fab of your MBM top.

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

You nailed it, and look fabulous like you always do, Sharan.

    Love this on you! Perfection!

  • Mirjana replied 8 years ago

Fantastic, excellent outfit, I like it very much.

Love the color of the pants --- not too yellow, not too dark.

Your version is fab, Sharan.  The fits are relaxed, but still skim the body with pleasing proportions.

I'm heading to Chicago for a couple of days, and I have my version of this outfit in my suitcase!

The fit of these pants is excellent on you. Low-rise really suits you.
I'm a fan of the soft feminine top with pants look (it never gets old for me) and this is no exception. Very nice!

  • harmonica replied 8 years ago

Perfect! I have to copy this outfit when the weather allows for denim jackets.

  • Chris987 replied 8 years ago

Everything about this outfit is terrific!  I have thought of wearing denim jacket/olive slacks for a while but was never sure what sort of top to add to make it look interesting. Will take inspiration from your outfit.  Also love the info on sewing patterns. I've been doing alterations for years but it's been a long time since I made any new clothes...another inspiration...

Looks great - love the top with those olive pants and the overall fit of everything looks perfect!

Lookin' good! You do this casual combination so well. Everything fits you so nicely, too. :-)

Thanks everyone! This is a good FFBO (fast fall-back option) for me to keep in mind.
