WIW: repeats, 3 ways

This week I repeated myself--stylistically--in different ways. Some things are just such favorites, I want to wear them all the time.
1. I made another sweatdress, like the one I wore here, in a different fabric, and wore it this week.
2. I made a top from the same pattern, and from the same fabrics, and wore it this week as well.
Truth be told, right now I'd like to make a sweatdress for every day of the week!
3. I wore the same tee, two days in a row, earlier this week.

The outfits:
1-3 (worn to work): black and white lacy-floral print knit sweatdress with black trim (made by me); black leggings (Lysse); black flat booties (Munro, Lexie); black woven leather cuff with silver studs; silver pave disc earrings (Lucky).

4-5 (worn to work): black slouchy skinny pants (MosMosh); black and white lacy-floral print knit sweatshirt with black trim and sleeves (made by me); black and white snake-print sneakers (Mephisto, Yael).

6 (worn to piano class): blue denim terry fleece sweatdress (the first one I made); navy leggings (Lysse); denim and navy cap-toe flats (AGL).

7-8 (worn for a day off and some work): stone skinny ankle jeans (NYDJ, Clarissa); blue and olive scroll print burnout knit tee (made by me); oatmeal handkerchief hem cardigan (Bobeau); stone and cream belt (Annette Goertz); taupe cutout booties (Kork-Ease, Stina).

9-10: (worn for a day off and a haircut): navy chinos; blue and olive scroll print burnout knit tee (made by me); green-gray belt (Fossil); olive 3/4-sleeved cardigan (Halogen); gray shimmer oxfords (Naot, Kedma).

Thanks for looking! I welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

I want those sweatshirt dresses! And I love the new top in the same print. These two first outfits are yummy, yummy. Still love the original sweatshirt dress. And 7/8 and 9/10 are also great looks but I prefer 9/10. I'm deep into a darkness phase...

I love the first outfit - the fabric of the dress looks amazing. Something about the contrast with these proportions in #6 is making me pause - but the dress looks grey on my monitor & the leggings look black so......:) :)

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

More love for the new sweater dress in 1/2. I want one. Love the dramatic hemline. I seems that it would be difficult to sew knits. You are an artist with fabric.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

    Thanks, all!

AM, I prefer the darker outfit, too. I'm trying to lighten up a little--lol!

Caro, I agree the proportions don't look so great in 6. That dress is longer than the black and white one, partly because the fabric stretches more, and I did take in a couple of inches at the shoulder on my second one. I think it would have looked better with heels, but I wanted to wear flats, to play the piano.

Joy, knits are pretty easy, actually. Most of them, anyway. The blue one was kind of a pain, in fact, because it's very squishy. Soooo soft to wear, though.

:) The joys of stretchy fabric :)

Love the dress, it looks soooo comfy. My fave (you won't be surprised to hear) is 4/5 with a mostly black with hints of grey color scheme. The cargos are lemming-worthy, the sneaks are super cool and your sweatshirt, well, you should share custody ;-) The Bobeau cardigan is in my finds, so more twinsies probably. And yes, I may make ROG my Friday routine. A lot easier than thinking!

Love #1! The sweatshirt in the same fabric is fab too. No wonder you want to keep wearing them. I can imagine the comfort :) I agree with Caro on the other sweater dress...you're right, perhaps heels may have been better, but It looks more unexpected as is, so no worries. Love the lightness of 7/8 in contrast to the first outfit. It just shows how versatile you are. Great looks Sharan!

Wow!  You make the most amazing things Firecracker!  I love the dress in 1/2.  It looks great and how wonderful that it's comfortable also.  Isn't it great when clothes feel as good as they look!  You have great variety in your looks and yet they are all clearly your style.  You also have one of the best shoe collections I have seen.  It's great, I think you do a great job of picking the right shoes to go with what you are wearing.

  • Peri replied 9 years ago

Yep, add #1 and 4 to my list. :)

And you know what, I'm not really joking! I would buy things from you if you ever have time for custom. I know pants would be hard long distance, but loose tops might be do-able?

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

I hereby crown you Queen Sweat Dress. I'm sure Fabbers are lining up for you to make them one too.

I LOVE #1. Wow. Killer look on you, Sharan.

#4 is fably Sporty Luxe, and the palette in #7 tickles my toes.

You are a gorgeous creature with creative clothing. The End.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Wow, #1 is unbelievably great on you! Absolutely gorgeous. I loved the first dress but I love this one even more. I also love the sweatshirt version!!

ADORE #7/8 also. Beautiful and so spring-like.

  • rabbit replied 9 years ago

I particularly love 4/5  and 7/8  just because all the different elements (color and pattern) of the different items work so well together.  (I also really like 9/10 but was thinking about the possibility of a slight tweak on the pants -- more rolled to show more ankle? olive? more skinny? I'm not sure -- they just look a little more classic than I associate with your look sometimes.)  Your new black sweater dress is awesome too!

I also like wearing the same items over in the same week -- I just want to enjoy my new favorites all the time!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

Thanks, everyone! You've brightened my day! When I wore the black print dress to work yesterday, I had a few customers who wanted to make one for themselves, so I've created a class for them to make it.

Ann, I think the black print sweatshirt is right up your alley--you would wear it well. Joint custody. . . hmmmm, what lovely items of yours would I ask to share in return. You have me thinking, or dreaming I should say.

Diane, thank you; I appreciate the comment on versatility--a nice way to look at the differences.

Thanks, Staysfit. I like to splurge on shoes, something I don't make!

Peri, how sweet! You are right, drapy tops would be possible to custom-make long distance. I'm trying out making a t-shirt for my friend who has knit the wonderful cowls for me. We'll see how that goes. I've made things for her before, and not all have been successes.

Angie, wow--thanks! You are the one who has influenced me to include some lighter looks in my wardrobe.

Suz, you're so kind. I like the newer sweatdress even more, too. It's even more comfy because it fits better on the shoulders.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

Thanks, Rabbit. I agree about the navy pants looking more classic than usual and perhaps than my preferred look. And I wasn't crazy about the look, but I wore them down for warmth that day. Now I think I probably could have gone with booties to close the gap and add a little bit of cool to the look.

I am in love with #4 - perfect sporty luxe.  The sweater dress is fab.

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

When are you opening sweatshop :-)?

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

Oh wow I LOVE 7/8. My absolute fav. Maybe it's the light palette and my craving for warm weather, not that it's been too bad. I love the hemlines of those dresses. Fun to see the same fabric in a top as well. You're so creative!!!

  • Tanya replied 9 years ago

Love, love that sweaterdress, so cool.  The other outfits are amazing as well, especially like the last one.  You are such a talented seamstress.

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

WOW. And that's exactly what I said when I clicked on the pics of that gorgeous dress. I loved the first one you made from the moment I saw it, but the second version is even more beautiful. You certainly know how to handle a needle and thread, girlfriend! Your knowledge of / choice of fabrics and patterns is perfection.

  • Jeweled replied 9 years ago

Ooh, ooh, #6 and #7/8 are just so wonderful on you!
Great long pendant necklace to accent #6.
And for #7/8, I think it's a combination of the lighter colors and strong design lines that work so well on you.

  • dakotacheryl replied 9 years ago

Love the Sweatdress...and I think the difference in fit through the shoulders in #1 vs #6 is like night and day...perfect alteration...

You do indeed look fabulous in these photos.

  • Debbie replied 9 years ago

All of the outfits are great. My favorite is the first sweat dress though. Absolutely perfection!

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

I love the sweatdress you made from the black lacey fabric--sporty luxe indeed! I had to look twice to truly believe it's a sweatdress. All your outfits look super comfortable, and you have made great footwear choices, too.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

    Thanks, everyone!
Jeweled, your analysis of the light outfit makes sense--something I can keep in mind!
dakotacheryl, thanks for your compliment on the alteration.

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

Wowie zowie! #7 is proportion perfect, but my personal fave is #1. Whoa do I like #1! :)

  • texstyle replied 9 years ago

Great dresses - all around!  But I do love 7/8 probably due to the light colors.
