WIW: me too, playing with comfort shoes

I am inspired by Transcona Shannon's pursuit of style along with comfort shoes for foot issues. I have similar foot issues, and so I'm watching her posts with interest!

Today I'm following her lead in this post (okay, actually I got dressed before reading her post, but I was inspired to post mine now because of hers). And yesterday I tried the light cords again (worn here with a shorter sweater), but this time with a longer cardigan, which felt much more comfortable.

The outfits:
1-3 (worn for a day off): Dark boyfriend jeans (Kut from the Kloth, Catherine); green and pink tie-dye print tee (made by me); olive leather moto jacket (AllSaints, Hawks); mushroom nubuck cross-strap flats (Naot, Lan); taupe shoulder bag (Aunts & Uncles).

4-6 (worn for a day of training): stone cords (Patagonia, slim fit); denim blue tee with ruffle (made by me); cream and slate long cardi (Eddie Bauer); cream cutout belt (Fossil); gray shimmer oxfords (Naot, Kedma); green trench (Gallery); taupe bag as above.

Wow - Sharan I LOVE you in the first outfit- the proportions read great to my eye and that jacket over jeans is such a great look.  I am also surprised at how much I like the Naot suede shoes here!  I have to confess I didn't care for them much when I first saw them posted on another thread in black. They look 10 times better on the foot than they do in pictures, and this gorgeous colour is really luxe looking.  I quite like these and may just try on a pair next time I'm in a Naot store.

I really like those taupe Naot flats. From the back they look like booties. They blend so well with your olive leather moto. I love this whole outfit.
The longer cardi is great in 4-6, although the short one is good too. Have you worn the Naot's with your light jeans?

Lisa, thanks! I actually tried on the black Naot flats in a store when I was on a trip last month, and liked the style, but I didn't want them in black. (I think they looked a lot better on the foot than off, though.) But I have black sling-back Mary Janes that are super comfy, so I'm set in that category for summer. So I came home and searched online to see if they came in any other colors; found these in "shiitake" on 6pm.com.

Joy, thank you! I haven't worn these flats much yet, so no, but I like your idea. I almost wore my light BF jeans, but grabbed these at the last minute. I will try them with white jeans, too!

i love the Noat flats. They look great with the jeans. You have the best shoe collection.

ADORE 1 on you. The moto is just so perfect here. You look effortlessly cool. Great long cardi look too. You have the best casual, arty style!

  • Sal replied 9 years ago

I love both these looks too. Those Naot flats look cool on, agree much better on the foot than off. A lesson to try different shapes and styles on rather than just look at the pic.

I will look at these for inspiration for my winter wardrobe.....

OH Sharan - I am soooooo glad you are posting these outfits that include comfort shoes. I am completely inspired!

I absolutely love those cross strap Naots and I think I'm going to check out the black version. I believe they could work for me as my black flats.

Maybe you and I can get a YLF-Naot love affair going! :)

Love the Naots! Outfit #1 is fab. I love seeing the olive leather in action. In outfit #2 I really like the long cardigan. I'm thinking about longer line cardigans myself. It works well over the top and jeans.

Thanks everyone--glad to be inspiring you, Kiwigal and Shannon! Yes, Shannon, we can start the Naot fan club. As with most brands (even my obsession, Paul Green), I find I like just some of the styles, not all of them. But those that I like, I'm really enamored with!

I love #1 on you - very, very fab :)

Love #1. For #2: I want to throw a bright orange scarf with it. Kinda crazy? Maybe apple green. I'm big into fruit colors today.

  • Ruth M replied 9 years ago

Outfit 1 is quite simply fab.

In Outfit 2 I really like the long cardi with your cords (though I liked the shorter cardi too).

How helpful for you and Shannon to have become "Naot buddies" - though obviously I wish neither of you had any horrible foot problems in the first place :)

Those flats fit really well into your look. I think the oxfords are super too. Both of these are winner looks in my book.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

Well Sharan, I've ordered the Naot cross strap shoes in black. Should be here in a couple of days. Can hardly wait! Will keep you posted.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Wow. #1 is killer. It's PERFECT weather for that combination, isn't it, Sharon. A sunny 65 degrees. I'm wearing a similar formula in white-out today. LOVE those ankle strap ballet flats.

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Great cross strap flats and entire outfit Sharan. Naot, who knew?

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

Shevia, right! I've wondered if Naots are popular in Israel, where they're made.

Shannon, I hope they work for you!

Woo hoo, a K rating, Angie! I really liked the outfit and felt great in it, too. Yes, sublime weather indeed.

Sharan - you always look a treat. Many thanks from another comfort shoe wearer!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

#1 is a stunning outfit! And the "comfort" shoes add a dose of true style -- I really like them on you. This shittake colour is so versatile. I might have to investigate whether I can find those, too. Hmmm. Maybe in Israel? Home of Naot?

That whole outfit just wows me. I love that jacket on you, as I know I have said before. What a great purchase.

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

I love and have always loved your shoe collection. So glad it's comfy. I'm all over that now too. More love for #1 from me too. :)
