Sneaker and jeans refresh

On my trip to return the sneakers I ordered from Madewell, I found a couple of things that followed me home. At Madewell, I tried on two pairs of jeans and a pair of shorts, and I bought the Perfect Vintage Wide-Legged Jean in tile white. (If anyone can create a Find, I'll add it.)

And I found a pair of sneakers at Nordstrom, the Cole Haan Topspin style in Roccia Pearly Snake. To my eye, the color has a little bit of mauve to it, so these fit the bill for sneakers with a blush pink element to them, for which I have been on the lookout. (I was interested in getting an update to my blush slip-on Mephisto sneakers that are getting kind of worn looking after several seasons.) Curiously I tried on this Cole Haan style in a different color a couple of years ago and the back edge bugged me. But they seem to work fine now. I'll wear them around the house for a while to be sure.

1) What I wore shopping. White Levis Icon jeans, navy and aqua print peplum-back blouse (made by me), gray waffle-weave cotton jacket (made by me), gray leopard print sneakers (Mephisto Yael), and metallic pewter crossbody bag (Kurt Geiger).

3-5) new jeans and sneakers with a boxy asymmetric metallic top (made by me) to show more of the top of the jeans.
6) new sneakers with a mauve sporty A-line dress (Zella) that I bought at the end of the season last year and look forward to wearing this summer.

    Love the white denim and the new sneakers! I have a different pair of topspins that I love and wear frequently. You look so good in everything—the made by me pieces are the star of the show as always! So nice to see you!

    Lisa, I was surprised the jeans fit so well and that I liked them on. Madewell jeans are hit-or-miss for me. Suz, I've been inspired by your wide-leg jeans and thought I'd try these when I saw them in the store.

    That silver top is so good on you. Subtle shimmer. The blouse is unique. Your sewing skills are enviable. 
    And getting a great fit in jeans is the dream, lol.

    Those jeans are a really nice fit. I agree that Madewell sizing of pants and shorts can be very inconsistent. So these are a lucky find.

    Love the new jeans and sneakers. Are the sneakers true to size? They are sort of what I have been looking for. You metallic top is fabulous!

    New jeans and sneakers are KILLER. Love them with the top you made too. The dress is perfect for the hot weekend and week that lies ahead of us Seattleits - without a/c!! 

    Your hair is growing into the most gorgeous style! Curls are very forgiving, and you look beautiful.

    RobinF, I would say, yes, they are true to size. I wear a 7 or 7.5--most often the latter, and 7.5 is what I bought in this style. I could wear the 7, but the 7.5 allows room for a little more sock or foot-swelling.

    Minaminu and Angie, thank you for the hair compliments. As I grow it out a bit, I feel it has been most challenging since the last haircut. Not sure how to style it these days. So the compliments are extra reassuring!

    I am so not sure about this new drapey, wide-leg pants trend, but those new white ones look great on you. Love all the clothes you made, but the outfit with white pants and pewter shirt is especially sharp.
