WIW: variations on themes

A few outfits recently are variations on themes I've recently shown here.

1 (worn Saturday for teaching sewing classes): gray linen blend slouchy pants (made by me); denim blue open stitch sweater (RDI, Nordstrom) over gray cami; pewter and rhinestone belt (Calvin Klein); metallic suede high-top sneakers (Paul Green). The outfit is a variation on this one that I wore on my day off with jeans.

2-3 (worn to work Friday): black knit harem pants (Eileen Fisher); wine layering tee (Tees by Tina); black and gray mesh knit cardigan (made by me); black sling-back Mary Janes (Think!). The cardi was shown here, and some of you said you'd like to see the cardigan with another outfit, and I wanted to wear it differently, too.

The last two outfits are variations on Angie's brown accent ensemble theme. . .

4-6 (worn to work yesterday): sage cotton slouchy pants (Annette Goertz); bluesy print silk tee (made by me); tan belt (Trafalgar); denim jacket (Robyn, AG); denim ballet flats (AGL); navy and tan bag (Dooney & Bourke). These pants are the ones that inspired the ones I made in photo 1.

7-8 (worn to work today): red, blue, and gray floral print chiffon peasant top (made by me); navy chinos (Caslon, Nordstrom); tan belt (Trafalgar); neutral multi-colored heeled oxfords (Fidji); navy and tan bag (Dooney & Bourke).

Thanks for looking! Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Nice!  I love seeing the EF harem pants in action.

Well Hello Queen Seattle Sneaker. Lovely to see you this morning.

You look fabulous every day, Sharan - but it bears special mention that you OWN that look in #2 like no one else. Killer to the power of Killer. xo

2/3 and 7/8 are my absolute favorites! The harems are absolutely beautiful on you. And such pretty tops. I am always in awe of your sewing skills. Fantastic outfits all around.

What a fabulous set of outfits! All of the items you made yourself are great as per usual. I'm particularly taken by the black and grey cardigan in 2 and the top in 7. In fact 2/3 and 7/8 are my favourites out of the group.

What Angie said. I was going to say that nobody wears those harem pants better than you -- they are a signature style piece for you, I would say, and you know exactly how to make them shine. Love them on you.

Love seeing all your sneakers, too, as usual!

Also, that MBM (made by me) label has got to be the best one ever.

Thanks, everyone. All right then, the harem pant look is mine. All others must cite the copyright. ha ha!
I'm thinking I could try to make some harem pants. They *should* be easy, right?

    If you say so. xo

I can't tell you how much I love what you make... the linen pants!  And yes, the harem pants outfit is the gold standard for how to wear this style.
