WIW: skinny cords 3 ways

It's skinny corduroys week here in the Firecracker abode. I'm wearing them for the third day in a row.

The outfits (worn for days mostly off, and to teach a couple of sewing classes):
1-2: teal skinny corduroys (Kut from the Kloth, Diana); aqua merino boxy sweater with stepped hem (Eileen Fisher) over steel gray tee (made by me); silver toned belt; gray shimmer oxfords (Naot, Kedma).

3-5: stone fitted corduroys (Patagonia); black, gray, taupe, and teal abstract bubble-print tee (made by me); long charcoal cardigan (Halogen); pewter cutout belt (Fossil); taupe nubuck booties (Paul Green, Jano); gray and brown wool coat (made by me); black satchel (Elliott Lucca, Olvera). These are the ones I just bought, to replace the Eddie Bauer ones that were feeling too tight.

6-7: olive skinny corduroys (Kut from the Kloth, Diana); white and brown scroll-print burnout knit tunic (made by me); cropped black denim moto jacket (Free People); olive distressed suede tall boots (Donald J. Pliner, Devi 3).
This tunic is one that some of you suggested I might cut off to be asymmetric. Instead of cutting it, I decided to tie the two ends from the slit at the hem on one side--viola! an asymmetric hem.

Maybe I'll wear skinny corduroys again tomorrow. I have one more pair before I'd have to start repeating! Any thoughts on styling?

Thanks for looking! I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

I love the way you have styled your skinny cords.  I am on the road and I packed my dark brown skinny Fidelity cords.  I find them so comfy in the winter.

Love your colour combinations.  Wish I lived closer so I could take a sewing class from you.

i  ordered a pair of skinny cords from Jcrew that arrived last night, so this was a timely post! love how you have styled them. i'm especially taken with #3/4. love the long sweater with the skinnies, and the light pants with the dark topper.

Those Diana cords really suit you so well. The cut is just perfection on you. Maybe that's why #1 and #3 especially appeal to me. How clever of you to tie the tunic for the asymmetrical line (without the sewing!) Gives you more options.

Love them all! How brilliant to tie the sides to make an assymetrical hem! I love the long lean lines with your long cardi! And the aqua top in #1 looks so nice and soft and drapey. As usual your shoe/boots add panache :)

Well, those just kept getting better and better, and the third one had me seriously swooning.  I absolutely love the proportions on this... the crop jacket, the asymmetrical hemline... AWESOME.

Sharan! Is that really the color of the teal KUT cords?!?! I hadn't been considering them bc in the nordies pic they look turquoise and not a deep rich teal, but in your pics they look like my favorite teal shade.

Love all of these stylings, especially the last one. The asymmetrical top solution is brilliant and I think it really works here.

I think cords are hard to style and have one AT pair that I haven't worn at all this season. I need to take lessons from you as mine always feel sloppy. The Diana skinnies look wonderful on you and I can't pick a favorite. How do you keep your cords looking good? After a few washings, mine look ready for the rag bag, no matter what the brand.

These look great but I love the outfit in #6 because it's fun and unexpected with that crop jacket I guess.

Wow! You set the bar high for day off outfits and you rock the long cardigan. I absolutely adore the asymmetric tunic with the moto. How clever of you to tie it! It's amazing. Fab x 3!

I'm loving the mint in the middle of Winter - wooohooo - and the high contrast looks with the Winter white.

You're doing a great job of styling your skinny cords, Sharon. No help needed. xo

    Thanks, everyone!

Style Fan, your Fidelity cords sound wonderful. I am a fan of Fidelity jeans and currently have one pair that I wear. Their denim is so soft and comfy, I imagine the cords are the same way.

Suz, yes, I wasn't ready to chop the top, as it were. And I was also lazy about doing it, I'll admit. But I also tried tying both sides, and I like that look for a different outfit.

Diana, the teal cords are definitely darker in person. They match the plaid cardi I'm showing below in Finds, too, to give you another perspective.

Joy, I think a lot depends on the fabric. The Kut from the Kloth
cords really hold their color and texture. Moreso than my Eddie Bauer
ones, which get that worn-in look after awhile.

Thanks, Jackie, Elizabeth, Texstyle, Kellygirl, and Angie!

Thank you for addressing my question. For warm and very casual, I may have to try some Kut Diana skinny cords. I wear my Diana skinny jeans all the time.

You look great in all of these. And I am Wowed by the tying to create the asymmetric hem!
