WIW: remixing some favorites

Here are my outfits for the last few days. I realized in gathering the photos that all of them feature items I have worn a fair amount, but paired differently than before, which makes them feel fresh.

The outfits:
1-3 (worn to work): stone skinny pants (Classiques Entier, city weave ankle pants); purple and cream micro-houndstooth check cowl pullover blouse (made by me); purple lacy knit vest (made by me); gray moto boots (Frye, Lynn); taupe trench (Calvin Klein); black satchel (Elliott Lucca, Olvera). Not sure I've worn this blouse and vest with these pants before; I've worn them with sage pants in the past. Oh, and I noticed after I took the photos (after work) that I had one cuff up and one down! I unrolled a cuff to show someone in sewing class how I constructed the hem, and I forgot to roll it back up!

4 (changed into after work): purple and cream micro check top again, with wine cable-knit high-low hem wool sweater (Eileen Fisher) and dark wash skinnies (Lucky, Charlotte Rail).

5-7 (worn to work): black bubble dress with wired collar (Sun Kim); black and gray mesh knit cardigan (made by me); silver leather belt; black cable knit sweater tights (B.Ella); black suede booties with gray turn-down cuff (Paul Green, Barbie); mauve packable coat (Mycrapac); black satchel as above. First time wearing the black dress with this cardi and belt.

8-9: I tried different boots with the outfit: gray moto boots (Frye) and flat black booties (Munro, Lexie). What do you think?

10-12: steel gray burnout scroll print tee (made by me); wine corduroy skinnies (Eddie Bauer); cream and gray stripey weave cardigan (Eddie Bauer); gray/silver belt; gray moto boots as above; brown and gray wool coat (made by me); taupe hobo bag (Aunts & Uncles). First time wearing this tee and cardi with the wine cords; I've worn them before with jeans or my pewter coated skinnies.

Thanks for looking! I welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

I really love the color schemes you've got going on here. There's a lot of black but not too much, and the cream and purples make it feel interesting. It works perfectly with your coloring. I think I like the gray Fryes best with the dress.

I agree, the subtle tonal variations are lovely. And I love your dramatic dress!

One of my favourite things about your style is your use of texture, which comes through beautifully here. Love the cardigan in 10 on you. And I think my fav shoe option for the dress is the fryes.

Funny about the blouse cuff; that must be an occupational hazard of being a sewing instructor!

I love your ankle pants and plummy colors in the first outfit, and how you converted the shirt into a casual, at-home outfit. Beautiful cardigan and coat in 10 and 12, too.

Favorite...the black and grey mesh cardigan. Well, of course. But I don't think I've told you before how much I like that taupe trench on you. The color is just so rich and perfect for you!

You are gorgeously FABULOUS all round, Sharan. But the bubble dress with the new booties takes the cake for me. Absolutely Killer. You seldom wear a dress - but when you do - you whack it out of the ball park. xo

Omigosh - that bubble dress is FAB on you Sharan. Gorgeous, arty, structural, visually appealing, flattering - all of it!

I agree - that dress is SO you and totally arty-glam! Your boot collection is so amazing, I love them all. Fab outfits as usual :)

Great looks! All three pairs of boots look great with the dress, although the Paul Greens look best with the cardigan in my opinion. How does the grey striped knit in 10-11 play with lighter colours? Would love to see that with a column of white or cream underneath.

Laura and Elizabeth, I kind of liked the Fryes with the dress, too. I'll have to remember to wear them together sometime. I didn't like the flat black boots so well--something elf-like about the look.

Windchime, yes I was thinking about how a lot of what I wear ends up being used as an example of some stitch or technique. I'm often turning up hems to point out something.

Thanks, Angie. I like dresses! I appreciate your vote of confidence.

Peri, thanks for your comment on the trench as well as the mesh cardigan. I went through a lot of try-outs for the coat here on the forum; I'm glad I found this one.

Okay, I can't get past the fact that you actually made that plonkin' wool coat, which I want.

I am agreeing with those who like the Fryes with the dress. You never know, do you? Something about them  seems to balance the outfit.

Fantastic textures and great combinations. I love the stone pants in #1. Also love the after work version. Great rich colour on you.

Thanks, unfrumped! You'd probably like the coat from the back, too--it has a full-length inverted pleat.
Thanks, Suz! I liked the wine sweater over the blouse, perhaps even better than the fuchsia that I wore with it recently.
