WIW: plaid shirt & new booties

A plaid shirt my way, that is--a plaid-like print t-shirt. I ordered flat booties during the Nordstrom triple points days, received them yesterday, and wore them today. There are now three pairs of booties/short boots (oh, plus another one or two) that I could have worn with this outfit. You could say I have enough already! Or you could say I have options.

The outfit (worn for a day off, out and about in the morning rain): dark wash straight leg jeans (Kut from the Kloth, Stevie); brown, gray, tan, and black plaid print tee with gray and brown mesh ruffle up the center front (made by me); black belt; black flat booties (Munro, Lexie); brown metal teardrop dangle hoop earrings; black packable travel coat (Cole Haan); black and brown reptile print cross-body bag (Aimee Kestenberg).

I wore the pants down but tried them rolled, too, for photos, to show off the new booties. Which look do you prefer?

Thanks for looking! Comments, thoughts, suggestions?

Options - absolutely essential to have options :-)

Your seamstress talents never cease to amaze me FC! Love the tones of your tee - beautiful monochromatic look combined with the jeans and your hair colour. I prefer the pants down with this outfit - but take this with a grain of salt. I'm not very fashion forward wrt the roll.

Love that plaid tee, so impressive that you made it.  Your talent is amazing.
Lovely outfit all together.  I like the jeans both rolled and unrolled, and have a slight [reference for them rolled, kind of fits with the outfit better.

That me-made (meaning, YOU made) top is divine. I love the cut of it and that subtle ruffle. The colours are lovely too. Love it in combination with the boots and jeans! You totally rock this look!

You have options of course! Great new booties, and I like the outfit without the roll. Might just be roll over saturation on my part though.

I prefer the jeans down. The rolled feels too casual to me for the blouse, or at least with it tucked.

A great outfit. You've been nailing them very consistently day after day. I'm all over the place. Up and down. I've started turning to jeggings and tunic tops on Saturdays... because that's become a day for sleep.

I am so impressed with the top! Gorgeous print and such rich colors that are perfect for you. I would bet in person it is even better. I think you have "options" and it is all good. Like the rolled to show off boots and make look more casual. The jeans worn sans roll make your leg line super long too.

Wow, you have long legs! I still prefer the jeans down though. I'm not sure why? Maybe it's the dark colors? Maybe with a looser top a roll in the jeans would work better. I think this top doesn't need the added structure that the roll gives. I like all the looks. I love the print of the top. Nice choice, and you make me wonder if it is too late to learn how to sew?!

Love your version of the plaid shirt - this is really nice!  I'd wear this look on a day like today (raining and miserable)  in a heartbeat:)    The jeans look good both ways - I think you could switch that look up depending on weather. I

Beautiful shirt Firecracker!  Love that little ruffle - and the color is perfect for you!  I like the jeans both rolled and unrolled - but prefer the rolled version because that peak of skin lightens up the darkness of the outfit.  The only thing I might try with the roll is to see if you could make it look a little less bulky/thick?  Did you try rolling them with a bit wider cuff to see how that looked?  Overall - GREAT outfit!

You are too funny & I am going to steal that line about not having too many booties, rather having options. :)

Great outfit for plaid - your way. I like both versions, but I am surprising myself by saying I prefer the unrolled version better. The whole palette reads very fall-ish to me, and I am really liking the long dark uninterrupted long leg line. But you can totally pull off both. I agree with Marley's suggestions re: the roll.

Thank you all for your comments and ideas!
Staysfit, it's not too late to learn!
Marley, I'll have to experiment with the roll--thanks! (I have not tried a wider one yet.)
Jackie, glad you understand about the boots. ha ha!
