WIW: new pullover & oldish jeans

Here is a pretty typical outfit for me these days. My pandemic style is generally jeans + t-shirt & cardigan or jeans + pullover. I am only occasionally working (still at OSKA, but as a substitute, not a regular part-timer), and when I go out of the house, I'm either exercising or picking up take-out food or coffee.

Lately I have been focusing on color, trying to get back to the ones that look best on me. Without lipstick (which I avoid because of masks now--although in the pics below I have on tinted lip balm), I find that wearing flattering colors is now more important to me. I bought several new things during recent sales, and this pullover is one of them. Definitely a keeper. I got it yesterday and am wearing it today.
I haven't been here much lately, I know, and can't even bring myself to "review" this awful, personally wrenching year. But I do appreciate the YLF community!
The outfit (worn for a rainy day spent mostly indoors at home, except for a take-out crepe and coffee run!): Blue and white marled pullover (Joie, Kamryn); blue cropped straight-leg Mom jeans (Levis, Wedgie); black moto boots (Blondo, Camila); gray tweed-print puffer (OSKA); black and navy leather and wool baseball cap; hammer silver-tone pendant (Lucky).
Thanks for looking, and thanks for being here!

Perfect - great jeans, great fit of the sweater, great accessories - couldn't do better as a WFH/life at home look.

Welcome back :) I've always liked marled yarns!

Great outfit! The buckles on the bootie and raw hem of the jeans are edgy! Excellent heather knit sweater. The pendant is a stand-out.

    The jumper is gorgeous!! Whoa!

    Thanks, all!
    Thanks, Torontogirl. I'm flattered!
Suntiger, I have a soft spot for marled yarns, too, and tweeds.
    Nikki, so sweet--thank you.
Rachylou, thanks! I was excited that I liked the sweater when it arrived.

Wow you look great, the marled goes super well with your hair. I like your hairstyle!

So good to see you Sharan! I am sorry the year has been so rough, but let's hope a new year will be better. Excellent point about lipstick - masks are the new lipstick I guess.
Anyway, you look fabulous. I absolutely love the fit of those jeans on you - are they the wedgie jeans in your finds? Hmm. May have to investigate!

    Thank you, Phoebe!
Jaime, thanks for the good wishes! Yes, the jeans are the ones in the Find. I have three pairs of the Wedgie style, in blue, off-white, and black. I would consider getting a 4th pair, if I were to happen across a full-length pair.

Very nice look - sweater is fab with your boots and jeans!
    Love the printed puffer!

Firecracker, that sweater looks like it was made for you and you are such a great advertisement for OSKA, the grey puffer is superb on you. Sorry to hear that this has been a tough year for you. I have never felt as fortunate to live in Australia as I have this year. Of course, things can change in an instant, so I am touching wood as I type.

Firecracker, great outfit! The puffer jacket looks very warm and the jumper is fab, not to mention the boots, so edgy!

    YLF.
I wish i had better words, i’m so sorry this year was so hard for you, and I sincerely hope that 2021 finds you in a better place.

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

I hear you on the rough year, and I’m sending you wishes for a much brighter 2021!

You look great, despite the tough times. I love that marled sweater on you, and you are one of the people who make me wish I wore that style of jean well. YLF!

Love this outfit, and I would nab that sweater if it was available! And the puffer is so good! Sending you wishes for a bright new year.

(You had me at take-out crepe! ;-) )

You always have the best jeans.  I love these on you.  The colour of the sweater looks so good with denim and with your hair.  Fantastic edgy boots!

It has been a rough year.  I hope next year is better.

You look wonderful. I am really loving your short hair again. It's lightening, lifting. Fabulous on you.

Great new pullover, too! I also love the necklace.

How do you find the Camilla bootie? I've just ordered a different Blondo on sale but it might not be the right size, in which case (since my other size is sold out) I may give these a try.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

You do look wonderful. The booties are so fab and make the outfit for me. I love the pullover for this chilly weather. Your “ uniform “ sounds similar to mine except for jeans. Most of my pants need to be pull- ons now. That is a challenge at this time of so many high rise pants and cropped lengths.

KILLER as always, and how LOVELY to see you :)

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

Thank you, everyone, for your kind and thoughtful words!

Suz, these boots are stiff, which I worried would bother me, but it doesn't. I wear my 3/4 Superfeet insole in them, to get my heel in the right spot, which I often need to do with Blondos. I haven't worn them a whole lot, but have worn them for entire days. The shaft hasn't softened up, but it doesn't rub anywhere and isn't uncomfortable.

Love this head to toe. Those booties make me squee and I love the simple but solid outfit. So perfect, as usual. Let's hope for a better 2021! You look terrific!

So good to see you.  I like the new sweater, and understand a preference to move towards flattering colors.  I continue to wear lipstick even under masks.  I purchased some re-usable structured face mask frames that hold the material away from my mouth.
