WIW: Midi and flat booties

Like Angie, I am wearing flat footwear almost all the time now. I just find it so much more comfortable for all-day wear. And one of my go-to pieces for work this fall is a ponte-knit midi skirt with a slim shape. I've been wearing it with flat booties. I've considered wearing it with chunky loafers or more refined oxfords, but so far, different pairs of booties have won out each time. Later in the season I'll probably wear it with tall boots.

Here's how I wore it today:
Slate gray ponte midi skirt (OSKA, skirt Omali, in space); light gray cotton t-shirt (OSKA, shirt Siral, in stellar); gray and white marled wool sweater vest (OSKA, Pilvi pullover); black studded booties (Halogen, Hailey); navy trench coat (London Fog); faux-croc leather satchel (Brahmin, Nadia); black newsboy cap (New Era).

Sorry the photos came out so dim, but hopefully you get the idea. Thanks for looking! I welcome any thoughts you wish to share.

Firecracker, I love your look. The skirt looks great with your flats. Do you keep the newsboy cap on at work? It fits your look very well. The wool sweater vest looks especially wonderful with your hair.

Thank you, Joy! I don't keep the cap on inside, no. I could, but I am more comfortable without a hat indoors, usually. I suspect that feeling is left over from my Army days!

I adore your look with midi skirt especially with coat and newsboy cap, beautiful on you. Great collection of shoes.

I love tubes, and  am all in embracing more flats for me, too-so LOVE this! I have to admit I have difficulties styling strechy tubes with booties with too much structure or hardware, but this looks perfect. Perhaps is in the hosiery,  are these true opaques already?

So nice to see a Firecracker ensemble again ! I LOVE this look and you’re inspiring me to get out the ponte black midi I bought in the spring and have yet to wear . I love it with short flat boots - unexpected , and I didn’t consider it as a way to wear it . Thank you for the great idea:)

    Excellent times two!

Very nice. The proportions on the skirt with the booties are fab, I see why you gravitate towards them. Love the Brahmin!

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments!

Lyn67, the tights are ribbed, with a marled gray color that blends well with the skirt. I have also found that some of my navy tights are a good shade to blend with the skirt, too. To me, it's always tricky to find the right color of tights to go with a non-black midi-skirt.

You are all so sweet--thank you!
Lisa, I'm happy to inspire you!
Angie, I hadn't worn this hat with my current haircut, but I'm glad it still works. I like to wear it with my trench coat, which doesn't have a hood. I also have a navy and black wool-and-faux-leather baseball cap that I like to wear with the trench coat.
