Before I read anything, I thought "There is NO WAY she made that jacket'.  And you DID.  I can't even imagine - how did you think of it, let alone execute it?

Fab all around.  Just blown away at your design skills.

All your outfits are gorgeous, but my absolute favorite is that metallic tweed jacket. It's ultra fabulous!

Your skills awe me. That jacket is fabulous! I am truly awestruck that you made it.

Wow. Love them all as usual. Today I'm picking the third outfit with the sneaks as my fav. Super fun!!

Holy crap. #1 took my breath away. That jacket is totally amazing. Also really like #7.

Aw, thanks everyone, for your compliments on the jacket. I took a collarless jacket class (year before last, I think), and this was my project. It was a class that spanned several weeks. So I had a lot of help with it.
Una, I pretty faithfully copied a Parker jacket I saw and tried on at Nordstrom. Except that one was black and white tweed, and it had a painted orange stripe where I've placed the ribbon. I really liked the jacket but realized I didn't want a black, white, and orange jacket, so it became my inspiration for the class project.

Add me to the production waiting list for that awesome jacket in #1!! That outfit is my favorite.

I hope before you get rid of any of your creations that you will offer them to us first! :-)

I thought exactly what Una thought when I saw that jacket. Love it! You look great in the jacket over it too!

The jacket is amazing, and that first outfit blows me away; you were made for skinny pants!  I love the layering with the blouse peeking out - it's structured and soft, fitted and flowy, and the sparkly tweed is genius!  The olive skinnies are my second favourite, they seem very 'tonal' with your colouring to my eye.  Well done, you!

Wow, I love that jacket you made! I looked at the pics first and right away it caught my eye. I also really like how you have styled it with a silk blouse, the final result is understated, delicate, and extremely stylish.
My second favorite is 4-6. That cardigan's fit is just right for a casual look.

How amazing that you have such great style and the ability to create your own pieces.  I think everything is fab but I don't think I have ever seen an outfit on you that didn't look amazing.

You are Queen Moody Palette, and wear the look with panache. #7 is my best, and a killer combo. xo

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Holy Moly, Sharan, this takes the cake for sure! That jacket looks like it came right off the runway. What an amazing piece! Subtle enough not too feel like it is "too much," yet a strong, distinctive statement -- you are a genius!!

I really love #7, too. Feels sort of 70s in a totally modernized way.

Are you enjoying the Shelli Segal shell? Does it work well for you? I am curious because I think I could use a similar styled jacket.

  • Meredith replied 9 years ago

Love the jacket and vest. What great pieces and lovely styling.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

    Thanks, everyone!
Suz, yes, I do like the Shelli Segal jacket--it's a great lightweight jacket for breezy or drizzly weather. (A workhorse for Seattle!) I like the sporty yet polished style, the color, the light weight. It has tabs to pull up the sleeves a little bit, which is nice in warm weather. But then, the fabric has a light rubber-like coating inside, which makes it less comfortable in same warm weather. Overall I find my Cole Haan packable coat more versatile, with its longer length, softer and lighter fabric. Plus, the hood on the Cole Haan is stowable in the collar, for a dressier look, and it fits a little roomier, so I can layer more under it if need be. It's still my go-to travel coat.

Looove the jacket, and the overall look and styling of the work outfits ...fantastic!

Are you kidding me!?! You made that jacket!?!  Where do you live so I can sneak in and steal it - and all your clothes.   I'm cracking up about Angie's comment of "Queen Moody Palette" - and agree you look good in those colors. Love all your outfits.
