WIW: for YLF meetup

Apologies in advance: there are no photos of the fabulous YLF group here, just photos of what I wore, taken at home.

As any of you who have been to a YLF meetup know, anticipation and figuring out what to wear is part of the fun. You want to wear something that you love and that other fashionable, stylish friends will appreciate. You want to be comfortable for the possibility of trying on clothes, really quickly, as there is a lot of shopping territory to be covered. And you want your feet to be happy covering all of that territory.

Here's what I came up with today, and it seemed a pretty good pick. Shoes could have been easier on-off for try-ons, but otherwise, it worked well.

The outfit: Red, black, and cream print flounce-hem tunic with open back (Free People, new from NAS); cream skinny jeans (Mother, the Looker high rise, in Whipping the Cream--just love these names!); black denim cropped moto jacket (Free People); black and white snake print sneakers (Mephisto, Yael); gray backpack (Rebecca Minkoff, Julian).

What a fun day with YLF sisters!

Thanks for looking! Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Yay team wear! YLF! Burgundy and white is giving me ideas for summer. I loved what you were wearing yesterday too. The dress with the pendant. Very stylish.

    Thanks, Muffin and Brooklyn!
Brooklyn, I wish I had outfit photos of yesterday's outfit, as I may want to repeat it, but at least I have the gathering photos to remember it by!

Beautiful outfit!  I'm sure you were a big hit with the other Fabbers and got a ton of compliments.  Burgundy is definitely your color.

Fabulous tunic on you, and great idea to pair it with cream jeans and bag.

Great outfit, although I know what you mean about slip on shoes being preferable for shopping. Sounds like a fantastic day!

  • kkards replied 7 years ago

One of my dream jobs is to be the color/ product namer.
Love the shirt, especaailly since you layered a jacket over it....so that now the inside outfit has a bit of the unexpected!
IMO a perfect outfit for a YLF gathering.

    Playful Sporty Boho Luxe:-)
I adore this outfit so much, Sharan. Your new blouse is gorgeous, and will look fantastic with so many other pieces in your wardrobe. Perfect shoes for a day with lots of walking. And your fun bag and cropped jacket add sass and punch.

So glad you had a marvelous time!

    Thanks, everyone!
Skylurker, I picked up the Halogen kick flare pants on sale, which I will show in another post. I had ordered them for pickup at the downtown Seattle Nordstrom. Otherwise, I came back with the contents of my wallet pretty well intact.
Amy, it was great to meet you, too--finally!

So that's how you wear an open back item! Why did I not think of wearing it with a Cami? I think this opens up a few possibilities for me.
Your outfit is super sassy and definitely shopping-ready :)
Love the shoes to add a little pep :)

Great outfit love, love all so much on you.

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

    Killer

    LOVE.

And I got to see it in person yesterday too - accompanied with a hug. Glad you're feeling better, Sharan.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 7 years ago

    Thanks, everyone!
Smittie, yes, I decided I could wear it with a cami. The sales associate suggested a lace bralette with a cute back. I tried it on (over my regular bra--it covers the cross straps, the shoulder straps are covered by the top) and liked the look but felt it was too risque for me. But then I went back and got it. I'm not sure I'll get the courage to wear it with this top, but you never know.

  • Lisa replied 7 years ago

I ordered that Free People tunic (or dress?) after seeing it modeled on you.  I hope it works for me, it's such a fun piece!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 7 years ago

Lisa, I'm flattered! It could be a dress if you're petite.

  • SarahTheWhite replied 7 years ago

This is perfect! You look so wonderful!!

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Fabulous outfit! I'm green with envy that you got to go to the Seattle meet up.

Totally cool and so playful!  I would never have thought of putting that top with cream!

  • Susie replied 7 years ago

What a great choice for a meet up! You look Fab, Sharan. But then you always do! I like the pieces you choose (and the ones you make are amazing) and I especially admire how you style them.
