WIW: FFBO courtesy of Angie

Today I used Angie's coral and blue ensemble idea as a fast fall back option. I had planned to wear another YLF-ensemble-inspired outfit but didn't like the way it felt.

Thanks, Angie, for the outfit inspiration, which came through in a pinch! I see a lot of other fabbers were similarly inspired! It was a high happiness factor outfit for me.

The outfit, worn today for work (1-2): Coral 3/4-sleeve cardigan; navy and cream destructed-fabric raw-edged A-line tank top (made by me); denim skirt with scallop-effect layers (Tribal); coral coat(Eddie Bauer, Christine Trench); denim ballet flats (AGL); navy and tan satchel (Dooney & Bourke); brass and silver necklace and earrings (Marjorie Baer).

Also, here's yesterday's outfit, worn to teach sewing class (3): tan linen pants (Eileen Fisher); minty green cotton sweater (Lulu-B); metallic high-top sneakers (Paul Green).

Thanks for looking! Comments and suggestions welcome, as always.

Gorgeous interpretation of Angie's formula! The denim skirt is very unique and fun. And you have a coral jacket and a coral cardi? :) Fun!

I know you love your neutrals, but that coral is just stunning on you.

Another great rendition of the formula.  Coral is very flattering on you.

Ah, from inspiration to real life. I love the color combination but I must say pic. 3 takes my breath away.

Youlook fantastic in the coral and the green! Lovely outfits, too. Your style is inspiring to me.

You look amazing in that green, FC. Wow. Not used to seeing you wear that colour - and it's fabulous. Sneaks are a nice touch.

And bless your coral outfit. I particularly like the short over long in #2. Nicely done. x

Brilliant execution of the ensemble! Love the trench. So fun. You really wear so many colors, so well.

The white jeans in my post are Gap Always Skinnies sized up 1. They are ok. I'd love a better fitting pair. These kind of drive me nuts because they require a belt or they fall down. (I don't always want to wear one.)

    Yes - it's brilliant!

You look so consistently fab --- that's the trick, I think, to a good wardrobe -- not looking great once in a while, but keeping it up day to day!

I'm particularly love the classic cardi over the fluid hi/low top -- a modern way to wear a cardi, and a great way to give the fluid volume of the top a soft structure.

Great bursts of wonderful color! I particularly like #3!

Thanks, all, for the love of my bright colors!
Angie, the green sweater is a lone stranger in my closet--except for a sleeveless tee that I bought with it. I got them to go with a scarf that I love. Can you tell I bought them in Florida?

Neel, the cardi and coat actually match quite nicely--one from Nordstrom and one from Eddie Bauer, bought in the same season.

Kelly, thanks for the info on the jeans! I tried on some white Gap jeans today, not the same style as yours, but the Sexy Boyfriends. Alas, they did not come home with me.

Beth Ann, that's so nice of you. I think taking the photos is prodding me to up my game a little bit, too.

    Beautifully done :)

Love the mint on you!! Have you ever tried Kut white jeans? I have the Diana skinnies sized up and Catherine boyfriends. The denim is heavy enough not to show through and comfortable until it gets too hot to wear them.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

Hey, Joy, great to have the endorsement on the Kuts. I have a pair of the Catherine boyfriends and am waiting on the next size larger to compare. Meanwhile I bought a few others today and will post them all for feedback once I get the larger Kuts. I didn't try the Diana skinnies--I didn't see them to try.
