WIW: denim on denim in black and white

Angie's post, "Seven Ways to Glam Up Double Denim" came out on a day that I am wearing denim on denim, in the black and white version. I'm using tip #1: wear two washes or colors of denim.
I set out to wear the angled-hem black tee with white jeans, but then I needed a topper for the cool morning. After trying several cardigans and jackets, I settled on the cropped black denim jacket. It doesn't feel "glam," but I think it's stylish and definitely not "cowboy," right?

The outfit:
White straight-leg jeans (Lucky, Lolita), black angled-hem short-sleeve tee (Bobeau); black and brown studded belt (Suzi Roher); black cropped denim moto jacket (Free People); black and white sneakers (Mephisto); gray backpack (Rebecca Minkoff).

Thanks for looking! I welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

Love your very chic black/white double denim outfit… not at all cowboy. The cropped moto jacket over the asymmetrical top is such a great look. Your backpack is fabulous!

Love this look, so cool and not cowboy at all. Your outfit is a perfect answer to how to wear a cropped denim jacket with jeans. And I love the angled hem tee.

Looks great - doesn't look cowboy at all - great tee and sneaks!

What a wonderful interpretation of Angie's post. Everything works together perfectly.

Cute! Skews more sporty than glam; swapping shoes and bag would easily move it more to glam if you wanted, but the sportiness suits your style nicely. LOVE the long hemline in back ^^

Beautiful and so youthful yet classy.  THIS is how a cropped jacket is done.

Aw, you all are so nice--thank you!
    Joy, what a compliment!
Aida, what I really wanted to wear was sandals, but the hot weather caught me off-guard, with toenail polish half worn off!

I like this.  I like how you have the longer top coming below the jacket at the back.  The white jeans are lovely.
