WIW: comfort mode

My new stone corduroys are so much more comfortable than my old ones. The fabric is soft and stretchy. They are by Patagonia and feel quite a lot like the Kut from the Kloth Diana style that I also like. Cords are a favorite jeans alternative for me this year, and I can get away with wearing them to work, too.
These outfits are variations on some I've worn recently; just a couple of elements changed here or there.

The outfits:
1-3 (worn for a day mostly off and to teach a sewing class): stone corduroy skinnies (Patagonia, women's fitted corduroys); teal, green, and taupe mixed print knit tee (made by me); sage merino boyfriend cardigan (Halogen); pewter cutout belt (Fossil); knit shoulder cozy in blues and greens (handknit by a friend); gray moto boots (Frye, Lynn); taupe trench (Calvin Klein); taupe shoulder bag (Aunts & Uncles).

4-5 (worn for a day of work, setting up an event--jeans allowed!): dark straight leg jeans (Lucky, Sweet Jean); dark brown crew neck tee (Caslon) under black, brown, blue, and sage boucle knit boxy sweater (Two Dog Island); cognac cutout belt (Fossil); gray shimmer oxfords (Naot); not pictured: same trench and bag as above.

Thanks for looking! I welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

I loved all of these looks - cosy, casual and stylish.

The first outfit makes me think 'steampunk' and air ships... :)

    Great looks!

I have a question about the Patagonia cords - are they true to size/the Patagonia size chart? I've seen them around on sale before. And would you say the rise is low or higher?

Two terrific looks. I like the pants tucked into the boots and semi-tuck with the cognac belt!

Fabulous Firecracker Those soft warm neutrals were made for you!

I'm digging the high contrast looks this month. Nice change - and just for fun. I like the way the skinnies tuck into those mid-calf boots. The shawl scarf in #1 is amazing.

Echoing torontogirl that these gentle shades of green and blue look lovely on you.

I really like your dangly earrings in 1-3 and your stone(?) and chain in 4-6.

Oh, both looks are fab! I love the palette in #1. What a fab shoulder cosy!

Loving the jeans and boots in outfit #2. Nice textured sweater too.

Both outfits are awesome! That shoulder cozy is gorgeous on you! Oh if I could knit like that!

Oh, I really like the fit on these ones. They're nice and slim yet have a bit of ease. Perfection! I love the soft off-white, putty tone, as well. Great outfits.

Masterful semi tuck. And, apropos of nothing, if I like and end up with the petrol allsaints jacket I heard of through you, you will probably be both blamed and thanked.

    Thanks, everyone!

Rachylou, I wouldn't have thought of steampunk, but I'm guessing it's the boots maybe? You always make me laugh!

Astrid, I would say the Patagonia cords are true to size. I wear the same size in them that I do in the Kut from the Kloth Diana. In this pair, I sized up one size, because of the color. The waist is big, but I like that the fit is a little roomier, and I will just wear a belt. I would buy a darker color in my regular size, though.

Ruth, you are observant! The dangly earrings are from Lucky, and the necklace is a brown stone disk floating in a hammered silver teardrop frame. It's a handmade piece from a local shop and a gift of my DH. He did a nice job picking it out for me; I wear it a  lot.

Angie, Diane, and Donna, the shoulder cozy is awesome, isn't it? My friend knit it for me, and we went shopping for the yarn together.
Oh, and Angie, I'm wearing high contrast again today. Will post pics later.

Suz, the cords are a creamier color than my Eddie Bauer ones, and I do like this color. I was thinking it was more like sandstone (though not tan) and the Eddie Bauer ones were more like granite.

UmmLila, I'm excited for you! I hope the petrol leather jacket works out for you. Such an enabler, huh?

As Angie said, it is nice to see you in high contrast for a change. You do an amazing job of styling your outfits,
