WIW: Christmas eve and the day before

I got a new sweater this week, thinking it felt holiday-esque, and wore it today for work and for a family gathering this evening. It feels festive and relaxed.

Also showing what I wore yesterday for a laid-back day off.

The outfits:
1-4 (worn to work and family gathering): black and gold ruffled dress (made by me); black 3/4-sleeve layering tee (Tees by Tina); black leggings (Halogen); teal plaid eyelash sweater (Pleione); hammered brass three-disc earrings (Lucky); gray moto boots (Frye, Lynn); long black coat (Gallery); black satchel (Elliott Lucca, Olvera). Photo 3 shows the dress, tee, and leggings without the cardigan.
5-7 (worn for a day off): dark wash straight leg jeans (Kut from the Kloth, Stevie); black, gray, and ivory blurred starry-print long-sleeved tee (made by me); forest green cashmere ruffle-edged shrug (made by me); black belt with ornate buckle, rhinestones, and studs (Bed Stu, Lily); flat black booties (Munro, Lexie); taupe trench (Calvin Klein); taupe hobo bag (Aunts & Uncles).

Thanks for looking! I welcome your thoughts and suggestions for improvement.

Your posts are like catalogues of interesting, coherent yet diverse looks. I love the dress you made. The cardigan looks great and I hope to see it again.
These jeans were made for you.

Love the first look. You look great in jeans.

Wish I could get a close up on your spangly dress! Looks fab with the cardigan and boots. Nothing says Winter Solstice Holiday like a bit of sparkle. Have a wonderful day!

Gorgeous! Whoa, I love that sparkly dress. It's stunning on you. Honestly, Sharan, you have the most fabulous eye for fabric and pattern. LOVE everything you make and how you wear your pieces. You are so creative and talented. Thank you for posting. I want a fuzzy eyelash sweater now too--wish I had the height to pull that one off. Happy holidays!

Your handmade artisan pieces far outweigh anything you could buy in a store.  Amazing fit and style!

Wow what a great dress - just beautiful. And even more fun with that fuzzy cardigan!  An unexpected pairing (to me, anyways) yet it works so well.
And , those jeans are perfect on you - lucky you for finding them!

What a great sweater! "Cozy elegance"-- may be a new style line ..
I can't get my link to show that color , for some reason.

Love the way the sweater and the dress compliment each other, I too would love to see more detailed pictures of your dress and t shirt ( another seamstress here :-) )

I especially like how the dress and long cardigan work together in the first outfit. Love your style!

Thanks, everyone! I'm so flattered by all your nice comments.
I thought the sweater and dress were a little quirky together, which I kind of liked.
I'll admit (or hope!) I'm a better seamstress than photographer. For those wanting a better look at the black and gold dress, you might check out Greg's cocktail-party photos from our September YLF gathering in Seattle. I wore the dress to that event.
unfrumped, I like "cozy elegance" as a description--it fits what I felt like in outfit 1, or perhaps what I was going for. When I googled the term, I got several home listings and pages related to home decor. Curious, huh?
