WIW: casual summer dress

I went with Angie's casual dress ensemble for a hot day. The outfit had to take me to work in an air conditioned store and to a play afterward in a theater without A/C.

The outfit: gray with black brushstrokes dress with draped pockets (made by me); black cropped, 3/4-sleeved zipper jacket (Halogen); black sling-back Mary Janes (Think!); black satchel (Elliott Lucca); black cuff with silver studs; silver spiral disc earrings. I wore the jacket off and on as needed in the air conditioning. My super comfortable sling-back Mary Janes had to fill in for "on trend" footwear!

Thanks for looking! Thoughts and suggestions are welcome!

If I saw this dress in a store, I would try it on in a heartbeat! I'm always lured by drapey pockets! That dress is such an interesting style. If a T-shirt dress and harem pants had a baby, this would be it. :)

    Nicely styled with the jacket!

Whoa - love that dress!  Do you make your own patterns, or do you have some super awesome source?

Fantastic outfit and I, too, am amazed at your sewing skills! I love your style - you have such a cool, easy, hip, stylish vibe.

    Thanks everyone!
Amiable, I used a vogue pattern for this one. I don't usually make my own patterns, though I do make some considerable changes to patterns at times.

Love this soooo much and in fact just showed the outfit to my hubby who said (and I quote) "that is one cool dress and looks great on her".

You made the dress? Ohmigosh, it looks difficult to sew. It's a total winner.

Shannon, that is so nice of your hubby!
E, thanks! Someone commented recently that something I had on looked like something you would wear. I was thinking it was this dress, but maybe not--I don't see the comment here.
