WIW: brown and black

I was debating over which topper to wear with this black, brown, and white tiny-bubble-knit dress. I went with what I felt was the safer option, but thought I'd post both here to see what you think of the bolder option. Safer is the black denim moto and bolder is the black and brown animal-print fuzzy cardigan.

The outfits:
1-3 (what I wore): black and brown bubble-knit dress (made by me); black denim cropped moto (Free People); black tights; black distressed suede boots (Donald J. Pliner, Devi); long black coat (Gallery); brown and black snake print cross body bag (Aimee Kestenberg).
4: fabric closeup (a little blurry, sorry).
5-6: option with the black and brown animal print fuzzy cardigan (Free People).

Thanks for looking! I look forward to your thoughts, suggestions, and opinion on whether the animal print cardi would work.

Sadly, the true awesomeness of your outfit doesn't show up on my iPad. It all looks black! From what I can see the textures look terrific and creat a fab, cohesive outfit.

I think the safer option is just that--safer. I really love the warm colors in the cardi and think it adds to the overall look without being too OTT. I love them both though--you have amazing style!

Well, I am madly in love with the FP jacket and find it hard to believe that a cropped denim moto is the safer option!  Just two different vibes IMHO.

The texture of the dress is terrific! I love it with the moto - it adds some "edge". Both are terrific!

Oi, the dress fabric is divine! Another Firecracker top pick.
I can't see so well on my monitor how the sweater print and dress fabric play together. What does come across is that it does give a great other look if you have a light colored jacket that plays off of the tan or ? silver in the dress fabric.
Agree you just have lots of fab choices!

I hereby crown you Queen Dark Moody Neutral. You are in a creative and textural league of your own, sweet Sharan. xo

    Thanks for your thoughts, everyone!

kellygirl, glad to hear the cardi looks like a viable option to you. I think I may wear it out of the house sometime!

Una, I actually had a similar thought about a cropped moto with zippers in the back being a "safe" option. Funny, huh?

unfrumped, I have a light gray leather jacket that would go with the dress, too.

thanks, Angie. "Dark moody neutral" sounds good to me!

Definitely wear the Free People cardigan was it. Love the piece and love the entire outfit.if that sweater was still available I would buy it.

    Thank you, Debbie!

I don't think there is a safe option either as both looks are fab and just different. I really like the bit of edge you get from the denim topper, but I also love the look of the bold cardigan, so I'm finding it difficult to pick a favourite. The dress you made is just lovely. Isn't the fabric great! YLF!

Wow. I really love that jacket!! SO cool. I wish I could see the details better but even from what I do see I can experience the brilliance of this textural feast.
