WIW: black & a little bling

These slouchy skinny pants are some of my favorites. They have front pocket flaps with shiny studs, eyelets, and rhinestones that can be worn out or tucked into the welt pockets. Usually I wear them tucked away, for just a sliver of shine that peeks out in movement. Today I wore them out for the full bling effect, and at the last minute I decided to add a blingy necklace too. Angie has described my style as "moody, arty, draped glam" (MAD Glam), and I think these blingy elements brought out my glam today.

The outfit (worn to work): slouchy skinny black cargo pants (Mos Mosh); black, gray, and white hatchy print tee (made by me); black boiled wool bomber with faux leather sleeves (Halogen); black flat booties (Munro, Lexie); blingy necklace and tiny crystal earrings; taupe trench (Calvin Klein); taupe shoulder bag (Aunts & Uncles).
I liked this outfit, as it combines some of my favorite things: the pants, the jacket, the boots, and earrings my husband gave me.

I tried some closeups, and they didn't come out all that great. But maybe you get the idea. :)

Thanks for looking! Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

Love! The necklace looks sort of like one I have. And I'm glad to know there really is such a thing as slouchy skinnies...I thought I was imagining the concept.

How are they fitting with your boots...shoes? Do you have them rolled or are they fitting over? (Still trying to work this issue out as you can see!)

Thanks, Peri! I rolled the pants to sit just on top of the booties. The pull on the back of the boot is outside the pant leg. A tiny bit of ankle could show when I walk, but the intention is to have ankle coverage, for warmth. (I'm wearing sheer ankle socks--like knee-highs but ankle length. I love them for wearing with skinny pants, since my calves don't need more help in grabbing onto the pant legs.)

I love the bling. It adds just the right amount of femininity and glamour to the outfit. The tee is great too - lots of visual interest and a light element to echo the bling.

MAD Glam - a perfect description for this outfit! Very cool pants, and the necklace was a great addition. The tee is gorgeous and adds a nice pop of pattern.

Sensational on every level! You always impress me with your sewing talent and MAD glam style and this outfit is one of my absolute favourites....I can readily see why you love those pants!! Your jewellery is special too. Very well done Firecracker.

I love those pants, too. For some reason I'm in an arty black mood the past couple of days too.

  • Firecracker replied 5 years ago

High five, UmmLila! I'm discovering I have quite a bit of black in my winter wardrobe.
Thanks, DEB, Karie, Sharon, and TraceyLiz!

MAD Glam is perfect for you! I love those slouchy pants on you too! They look so great paired with that T and with the bling of the hardware plus your jewellery. Well done.

Love thie mad glam. Those pants are perfection. Just the right amount of MAD glam.

  • Firecracker replied 5 years ago

    Ha ha, Debbie--thank you!
Shevia and Jackie, thanks. Since Angie coined the label for me, I've been finding my favorite outfits have at least one or two of those elements. Not all outfits need all of them, though.

Thanks everyone! It occurs to me this outfit would have been a good one for Thanksgiving, with the bit of sparkle.
