WIW: "aged wine" jeans

When I saw Janet in her deep burgundy boyfriend jeans, and then saw that they were on sale, I had to run out and get them. They were so much prettier on her than they looked on the website.
These are Rag and Bone, the Dre skinny boyfriend fit, in a color called "aged wine," which to me looks like an eggplant shade. It is just the color I wanted, and I love that they are not yet another pair of skinnies--my fall-back jeans fit, but I gotta say, some variety is nice! If I hadn't seen them on Janet, I probably wouldn't been moved to try them. Online I didn't think the color looked like what I wanted, they were expensive for me, and I hadn't had luck with Rag & Bone jeans I've tried on in the past.

They arrived yesterday and am wearing them today. Love them!!
I have other outfit plans for them, too, but today I had to wear something I could easily wear with a different pair of pants, because I'll have to change out of jeans to work for a couple of hours this afternoon.

The outfit:
Eggplant skinny boyfriend jeans (Rag & Bone); ivory long sleeved tee (Caslon) under mauve floral wool cap-sleeved tee (made by me); taupe
croc-textured moto booties (Donald Pliner, Dalis); long pearl-chain ivory stone pendant; pewter cutout belt (Fossil).

Thanks for looking, and thanks, Janet, for the inspiration to try these jeans. Suggestions welcome!

Those are some nice jeans I've been trying to get those same color jeans for a long time and could never find them anywhere, none of the stores had them. I have to try online, but I feel like you should go a little sexy with the heels and fine a more pearl color short heel nothing tall with that outfit. As for the belt a little thinner belt will be great for that outfit in my case but its your outfit you feel beautiful so that's you hun:)

What a great find. They look wonderful on you. You have put together a creative and interesting outfit.

    Thanks for the ideas, Bel!

    Thanks, Joy!

    LOVE!!

OMG, these are the pieces I need for my blush jacket!  :)

These colours are just stunning on you, and once again we see the versatility of taupe boots. ;)

Like you, I wasn't thrilled with the colour of these jeans online but loved them on Janet and now I love them on you and am wishing I ordered while they were on sale. I will have to keep my eyes open for another opportunity. I really like the fit of the Dres.

And how great that you have another option for that beautiful tee.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 8 years ago

Yes, Suz, these would go well with your blush moto!

These look great on you. I thought I had finished with jeans buying for a while, but you are tempting me.

Truth is, I think they look better on you than on the model!

I bought my first pair of the Dre jean last year and got a second pair in white a few weeks ago. I love the fit and the fact that they are so comfortable to wear.

Wow, MsM, another Dre fan! I hadn't tried this style before and just didn't notice how popular they were. I think when I saw "Rag & Bone," I just recalled my experience with their skinnies that didn't fit over my calf-- I mean, really didn't even begin to go over my calf.

You look terrific in this silhouette -- slender, but relaxed.  I bought a pair of deep burgundy slim pants --- have yet to wear them, although I'm hoping to this weekend!

I like the way you layered your knits.  The slightly boxy tee makes it look modern and autumnal.

    Love the jeans on you.

Whoa, these are gorgeous on you, Sharan. I love the color and the fit!

Really great fit and look on you, they will be very useful and versatile I think.

You tempted me in with the Aged wine!!

  • replied 8 years ago

Very nice saturated colour! I'm tempted too.

So great! Nice color and fit on the jeans, and nice ensemble — so pulled together.

Wow - love everything here!  The jeans fit beautifully, and that cap sleeved top is fantastic with it. Love the boxier cut .

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 8 years ago

    Thanks, all!
Sally, I like the color name, too!

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

Fabulous all round. LOVE that you got those jeans, Sharan.

  • Dee replied 8 years ago

Great color combo! I can see those jeans working well with the rest of your wardrobe too.

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

Gorgeous jeans - but you had me with aged wine.

Smart buy! What a perfect moody "nearly neutral" for you. Goes great with so many of your items. Another great Firecracker creation in the T!
I think this is an example of the "prepared mind" , wardrobe-wise--knowing when to leap. I think it's great they are a wardrobe essential  for you and not jsomething trendy--since the color is perfect and they're easy to style, you'll wear them a lot and use them as a backdrop for experimenting also.

I like how saturated the color of these jeans is. And I love that they are a relaxed fit. I really love these jeans! Both these things are missing from my own burgundy jeans!

I really like your layering too. I think half the battle with burgundy jeans is -what to pair with them! You've done a fantastic job, Sharan. LOVE!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 8 years ago

I wish I could capture the color better. They are a little lighter IRL than they look in my photos, but darker and a little cooler in hue than the online photo. Odd, I thought I even lightened my photos.

"Prepared mind"--unfrumped, I like that! Hadn't heard it.

    You are very welcome hun!!

Oh, these are perfect for your wardrobe.  And what a great fit.  Making mental note of your "calf issues" as I have them too....

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

These will melt right into your wardrobe with ease!  Lovely color.

  • Bijou replied 8 years ago

Wow I love these jeans - they are a wonderful fit on you and the colour is stunning.  I can see you getting a lot of wear from these for Fall and Winter.

  • kkards replied 8 years ago

love the jeans….and the 70's inspired short over long!

  • Carole replied 8 years ago

You had me at "wine"! Seriously, love the color and fit...score!

  • Janet replied 8 years ago

Oh yay! I'm glad you did get them.
They look fantastic on you. Mine are in the laundry right now, and I was just thinking of wearing them tomorrow. I may need to do a late-evening load of washing. ;-)
