WIW: A Very "Me" Week, Day 3

Day 3 of Angie's challenge to present a week of "very you" outfits. . .

Again, a work day, so my constraint is to wear OSKA from head to toe, except shoes. And, because we are in the spring/summer season with our merchandise, I need to dress in spring/summer pieces, even though it is still very much winter outside.

Today's outfit feels more like "pretty much me," rather than "very me." I love the color, and I love the drapiness of these pants and top. The base outfit here has a dressier feel than I usually wear, but it does work for me because the style of the pieces have such a casual vibe. I tried the outfit with different toppers, but the denim jacket felt the most comfortable to me; it is part of the outfit that really makes this my style. I guess the only reason that I can come up with for why this outfit might not be totally me, is that it's not literally a jeans outfit.

The pieces: Purple viscose pants and top (OSKA, Eilea trousers and Aitira blouse, in iris); boxy lightweight denim jacket (OSKA, jacket Manami); silk chiffon print scarf in many shades of blue, with a hidden picture of a paraglider on it (Unbreakable Evolution, from OSKA), black half-d'Orsay flats (Free People, Royale); gray tweed-print puffer coat (OSKA); purple lightweight knit gloves (Jeanne Simmons); gray leather cross-body satchel (Olbrish, Mona); silver bicycle-chain bracelet, silver rounded-triangle hoop earrings.
P.S. I added a hat before I left the house, shown in pic 4 at the bus stop.

It’s a super outfit and I love the blend of colours with your hair. The cut of the clothes really suits you but I do understand that jeans would make it very you.

Oooh! You wear that iris tone so very well! Beautiful on you! I get that jeans would feel more "you" but these pants are really flattering.

Thanks, Jane and Suz! One can't (or I don't) wear jeans all the time, so my style surely doesn't depend on them. :)

Your glasses and shoes are very you, so no matter what you wear in between you are 50% there I think. :)

The purple seems like a neutral with other dark neutrals.  I love the soft scarf with the rest.  You made-by-me pieces are more interesting but the purple is unexpected.

    KILLER

Very Sharon because of the: voluminous drape, muted tones, practical and interesting shoes, attention to detail, polish.

    You always look fab!

Love the purple and that scarf!

I loved this top and pants when you last posted them. Gorgeous scarf- it pulls everything together and truly elevated the entire outfit.

Well, I love this outfit. Shade of blue with purple pants never looked better.

I really like the cut of the jacket and the way you manage to do the volume on volume look with elegance. Puffer is magnificent too!

Those frames with your blue eyes and the color of your hair ....just perfect , beautiful really !
Eyeglass frames are the HARDEST thing in the world to get right.
I like your outfit with the denim jacket too!

Thanks! You all are so nice. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. This is a fun challenge, seeing everyone's outfits, analyzing personal style, and trying to gain insight into my own.

To me this outfit conveys effortlessness. An interesting mix of colors and textures without trying too hard. In the photos, you look wonderfully at ease.

Gorgeous! Love the colours and the style. The iris trousers and top look fantastic with the denim jacket - really chic and interesting. The addition of the scarf is brilliant... Everything is great. This is one of my favourites.

I can understand how the lack of jeans may make you feel just a tad out of your element. I also think it’s hard to dress as “you” when you need to wear a uniform (of sorts) to work. Perhaps these lovely trousers are a wildcard type item for your wardrobe? I think they are only a sidestep from what you might usually wear, and the effect is absolutely stunning. In fact, I need to remember for future reference that pairing a more subtle color of trousers might be more elegant that using the colors I have attempted to use. I think that shade of purple comes close to being a neutral.

Fabulous jacket! I really like the mix of soft and fluid pants and scarf with the structure of your jacket. Your shoes are really fun. I have to wonder if your feet get cold though?

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 5 years ago

    Thanks, all!
Interesting points, Staysfit--thank you. I think the trousers are a bit of a wildcard for me, though perhaps not really enough of a departure to be a truly "wild" card--haha--I don't know.
Mainlady, I have on nude stockings, which is partly for insulation with the pants. I am not going barefoot with my shoes until much later in the season! Even so, it's true, this is early for me to wear such uncovered footwear. The addition of the hat helped me stay warm enough on my walk to the bus.

I'm late in replying here but this outfit actually stayed on my mind, so I had to come back and say something. It's gorgeous in its relaxed shapes and chic cuts. That jacket is one of the coolest ever. It looks like a modified swing cut, is that right? You have shown it before and I loved it on you then. Now with the fluid pants it is again really flattering if not even more so. I love your style.

A great outfit. The items that I always think are signature Sharan are your amazing made by me items. You are a great ambassador for OSKA clothing and I love how this does not look like a uniform.
