Pixie me

Going shorter on the haircut. I had been keeping some length on top, to preserve some of the wave in my hair. On this trim, I decided to go shorter--a bona fide pixie, I think?--and I like it. My inspiration is Jamie Lee Curtis, when her hair is a little bit grown out from her very short, spiky pixie. I think I could go even shorter, and maybe will try it this summer.

Love it! It suits your face Sharan and is clean modern and very stylish.

Looks great! I'd say that's a pixie alright!

I kind of envy women who look so good in pixie cuts -- I had my hair that short for five minutes in the 80s and that was enough, I think.

Wonderful!! This really suits you and looks especially great with your specs. I may go back to short next summer, but am too much of a wuss to hack it all off in the winter (my neck is cold just thinking about it!). I definitely get pixie envy looking at others' short hair (here on the forum, IRL, and in TV/movies :) ).

Stunning! You are meant for a pixie cut, Sharan. It looks great with your eyeglasses and really throws a spotlight on your fab cheekbones.

You look great in your new haircut and very much like Jamie Lee Curtis with a pixie cut.

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

    Fabness itself! :)

The new cut looks amazing on you!  It highlights your face and eyewear.  I think you will love how easy it is to care for.

Lovely! Definitely a pixie. I used Jamie Lee for ages for inspiration, I think the second of the three pics of her you show. Now I just show the hairdresser the last pic of me with a new haircut to remind them what to do. I do try to go every 6 weeks or so, getting messy by 8 weeks.
    You look great in it!

Great look - your earrings and glasses work really well with that haircut!

    Oh, wow! I love it!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

Thanks, everyone! For years, I thought I couldn't wear it this short at this point in my life. I was a little traumatized, I guess, by a cut that wasn't such a great look on me, about a decade ago.

  • catherine replied 3 years ago

    Absolutely perfect.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

    Love this cut on you.

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

Fantastic cut.  You quite resemble Jaime Lee Curtis.

  • Ledonna N. replied 3 years ago

This is such a challenging cut to pull off but it suits you quite well

This is adorable on you. Looking forward to full body pix with the new cut. Well done on having the guts to take the chop. It amuses me that you say you didn’t think you could go so short at this age. If I think about those kind of rules, my impression is that I’m “too old” for long hair, so I don’t listen to those rules (or people who tell me about them).

You look amazing with short hair!  It suits your features!

  • anchie replied 3 years ago

You look great, and even shorter I am sure will look great on you. I am itching for pixie cut for long time now. Hopefully this year I will join you.

  • replied 3 years ago

I love it, it shows off your beautiful bone structure.  So flattering!

  • Murph11 replied 3 years ago

Really great cut spot-on to your inspiration! Enjoy your fresh look in good health!

My hair was trimmed similarly a year ago, then lockdown, and now grown out to collar-length. I had no intention of growing it back out, but here I am (in need of a trim).

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Super cute! You have beautiful salt and pepper hair. Looking very pretty and radiant! I can see you go shorter too. How fun :)

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Loving it! But, well, I am biased. :)  Seriously, though -- it looks fab!

  • Gigi replied 3 years ago

Looking good! It is very flattering on you.

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

    So fun!
Struggling with my regular short hair goals and any new inspiration here in pandemic since I’ve had only 2 real haircuts in about a year, but trimmed it myself several times. Kudos to you!

    You look fantastic!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

    Thanks, everyone!
Fashintern, I wasn't swayed by any of those prescriptions for women over a certain age (those things make me so angry!); I had just had the experience of hating a short haircut that I expected to love as much as I did in my 30s, after going for many years with other styles.

  • Echo replied 3 years ago

    You look amazing. Great choice!

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

Love it! Shorter is the new longer. :)

  • AJ replied 3 years ago

Pretty!  I really like the side pic that shows off your bangs.

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Love the new hair, suits you and is a great version of the Jamie's+ great TEXTURE and  color!:-)

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

I love this on you, it is very feminine and fresh. Your natural curl gives the cut body.

  • Inge replied 3 years ago

Yes!! This length looks wonderful on you, Sharan, especially with the different shades of salt and pepper and waves coming through. And I too think you could go even shorter if you want to.
    Enjoy your fab short 'do!

  • Gaby Meyers replied 3 years ago

Love it! You look modern and cool, perfect cut for salt and pepper hair.

  • Laurie replied 3 years ago

Very Jamie Lee Curtis! I think it looks super.

  • Beth Ann replied 3 years ago

You look fabulous! It makes the most of your hair's texture (the curl is great) and color (the variation highlights the cut).  Brava!
