Picasso Challenge: Woman with Book

Picasso challenge day 2, inspired by the painting Woman with a Book.

The outfit (worn for a day off and to teach a private sewing lesson):
Wine corduroy skinnies (Eddie Bauer); ivory, red, and blue-gray chiffon peasant blouse (made by me) over wine cami (Shimera); blue and gray cardi knit with tiny fleur-de-lis pattern (Eddie Bauer); ivory cutout belt (Fossil); red earrings with silver flower design; denim flats with navy cap toe and tan belt (AGL), navy and tan satchel (Dooney & Bourke).
Option 1, with bright coral coat (Eddie Bauer). Option 2, with olive packable coat (Laundry by Shelli Segal).

I was trying to capture some of the color, the feminine feel, and a little of the boho style that I see in this image.
I'm unsure which coat I'll wear when I leave the house in a half hour. Leaning toward the coral for fun, though the olive is more what I would usually wear.

The textures and colours work well here FC. I like how you brought pattern into it to echo the pattern the subject is wearing. I like the coral coat as it's a bit unexpected, but both coats work well.

I vote coral too in the spirit of the painting. Such a fun colored coat btw :-) I like how you interpreted this painting, feminine and boho is not something I would have thought of.

Really nice! I like the colors and how they interpret the painting, especially with the coral coat.

    CORAL, hands down.

You nailed it again - in your own muted, glam and arty way, Sharan. Extra nice lipped and earrings. Nice nod to boho-lite.

Coral for me too - fab :)

Beautiful! I love the coral with this outfit and the wine skinny jeans are so fun. We have similar "flower" belts! Nice work!

You look amazing as always! I love your continuation of the flower theme from the painting -- and impressed that you picked up on the boho element, which I didn't notice until you pointed it out. This challenge is like art class for me. Your coral coat is gorgeous.

Wonderful job taking the interpretation and making it your own.

I love the coral coat with it.  Great interpretation - I really like the patterned top.

Love the top. Both jackets look fab. I would probably wear the olive actually.

Love both versions, but have a slight prereance for the coral jacket.  These almost-bright colors works do well on you.

Thanks, everyone! I ended up wearing both coats. One (coral) to piano lesson this morning and the other (olive) to teach my class in the evening--I wanted the hood in case of rain.

    Love this!

So interesting to focus on the burgundy background and the floral features. I likey!

I couldn't decide which coat I liked better, so I'm glad you got a chance to wear both. :)
