Oh! What a rich red. It's beautiful! I LOVE the outfit with the tank on its own. Once again, your genius for picking a pattern that works with your hair comes through. I am taking notes.
And just look at that arty vest! WOW, that is a signature kind of piece. You are an amazing sewist.

Nice work!
I have a preference for the shorter tops (first outfit).
How does it look with low vamped shoes ?

Oh wow Sharan! You culottes are 1000% better than the Madewell ones. I much prefer the shape. The colour is delicious and I adore that arty vest that you made. YLF!!

Fabulous! I also like shorter tops with these.
I think I still want to wear my Topshop dark red culottes so you've inspired me to break them out again. Maybe next year I won't want to but for now they're still newish to me!

Both outfits are killer on you.

Stunning. That red shade is gorgeous but you've upped the ante even more with those coordinating tops. I'm overwhelmed by your creative genius; it's one thing to see existing items in the shops and combine them creatively; it's another to find the right fabrics and colours and combine them into something flattering; but you go so many levels beyond, imagining things that never were. I don't know which outfit I love more...

Ooh, those turned out great and go so well with your toppers!

I love that color! You are such a talented seamstress! Gah, I wish I lived closer -- I'd hire you to do a couple of projects I have in mind. :-)

Thanks, everyone! I'm blushing from the compliments.
Skylurker, I will have to try the culottes with a lower-vamped shoe, too. Maybe ballet flats. . . .
The applique vest was the project I made in a class recently, at the American Sewing Guild annual conference. It was a lot of fun, and way out of my usual mode, coming up with a combination and placement of shapes, plus doing some hand stitching!

Love the culottes! Great color and linen too (my favorite fabric).

Love them especially with the great vest in #3/4!

More love from me for your burgundy culottes! These look so good, you'd think they'd been custom tailored just for you! :)
And I'm picking my jaw off the floor, trying to recover from how awesomely COOL your vest is!

I love how you are able to say: this one is not quite right, I will make one that's better. I am so envious! The colour is fab, of course, and I particularly love the first outfit combo. Elegant and unique. YLF.

That's the way to put your skills to use!
Once you had the right fabric, you were most of the way there.
The best is fabulous, too!
