WIW: new white jeans

Today I took the tags off my white bootcut jeans and wore them. Still thinking about straight leg/boyfriend options.

Yesterday's stay-at-home outfit is included here, too.

1-3 (worn to go out to breakfast with family and then shopping with Dashielle!): white bootcut jeans (Lucky, Lolita); taupe cowl-neck cardigan (AllSaints) [I'm wearing it "upside down"]; pewter cutout belt (Fossil); taupe low-heeled lace-up sandals (P. Monjo); taupe faux-croc cross-body bag (Brahmin); pave disk earrings (Lucky); crystal studded disk bracelet with pewter leather strap.

4 (worn to clean the house yesterday): diy cutoffs (Lucky); off-white tee with neutral applique design (Eddie Bauer); 3/4-sleeved cardi in oatmeal (Halogen); tan belt (Trafalgar); denim ballet flats (AGL); silver and brass concentric circle dangle hoops (Marjorie Baer). (I didn't actually wear the shoes to clean the house--ha ha!; I wear slippers in the house.)

Thanks for looking! Any suggestions or thoughts are welcome.

the annual white jeans search

If the title sounds like I'm a bit over this white jeans shopping thing, it's because, yes, I am. I went through quite a trial last year to find the perfect white jeans, and this summer they don't fit. It's a combination of small amount of weight gain (every little bit shows in jeans!), and that I'm wanting a slightly roomier fit this year.

I'd like to have a pair of white boyfriend jeans that can be worn full-length or a straight leg that is slightly slouchy.
I'd also like a bootcut that is flattering.
I think I may have found both, but please tell me honestly what you think.

Here are the contenders:
1-2: White bootcuts (Lucky, Lolita). I'm planning to keep these, unless you see something that I'm missing.
3-4: White boyfriends (Kut from the Kloth, Catherine, sized up).
5-6: White boyfriends (Kut from the Kloth, Catherine, in the larger of my two usual sizes).
7-8: White cropped boyfriends (Lucky, Sienna).
9-10: White cropped straight legs (JCrew, Reid).

What I currently have, for comparison/info:
11-12: white cropped boyfriends (Eddie Bauer)--these fit, and I wear them.
13-14: white bootcuts (NYDJ, Barbara)--last year's, too tight.
15-16: white straight legs (AG, Stilt)--last year's, too tight.

Thanks for looking and helping me decide what to keep (if any). Collective wisdom is so useful!

WIW: oxfords experiment

I like the idea of oxfords with looks that bare the ankles: rolled pants,
skirts, shorts, etc. But I usually don't like them on me. However, I tried the look yesterday for work. I wasn't too happy with the look on me, and I'm not sure why I don't think it works. I've always suspected it's the shape of my ankles and/or I just like other looks better on me. These oxfords are especially high-vamped, too. I'm not sure I would wear these shoes again without having my pant hems meet or cover the top of them. What do you think?

The outfit (worn to work): olive chinos with brass studs down the sides (Lucky); black spatter-print tee in shades of gray, sage, off-white (made by me); black cardigan (J. Jill); black belt; black oxfords (Josef Seibel); olive coat (Laundry by Shelli Segal); black satchel (Elliott Lucca); brass and silver earrings and bracelet (Lucky). I did not really want to wear the cardigan, but I was cold, and I ended up keeping it on most of the day.

I welcome your feedback. Thanks for looking!

WIW: hard edge/soft touch

Today's outfit was inspired by this ensemble idea of Angie's. Maybe the idea is quite loosely interpreted, but the inspiration was there, nevertheless.

The outfit, worn to work: tie-dye-effect knit tunic in neutrals with a diagonal layer in front (made by me); dark gray skinny "scuba" pants with seams down the back and zippers at the back ankle (Halogen, some years ago); brown metallic booties (Donald J. Pliner, last year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale); brown metal teardrop hoop earrings.

Comments and suggestions are welcome! Thanks for looking!
